"Mom? You swapped it out?" Seraphina Sterling stared at Kimberly Jennings in astonishment. She had been on guard against everyone, except for her own mother!
"That's right! When you had Summer's mother invite me to the shop multiple times, I found out about it! It's a cursed object. For anyone without power and influence, getting mixed up with it means inescapable trouble!" Kimberly Jennings's arms trembled slightly. "So I swapped it out the very first chance I got!"
"But how did you know about the Jade Bracelet? How did you get such a similar fake?" Seraphina Sterling was completely baffled. She felt as if she had never truly understood her own mother.
"Don't you remember? Your father was killed because of this Jade Bracelet! Except, the one he got his hands on was just a fake, not the real one." Kimberly Jennings looked at Seraphina Sterling in shock. She had always assumed Seraphina had gotten ahold of the Jade Bracelet because she wanted to find out how her father really died!
