But Terrence Grant was flying down the road in his car and didn't hear his phone ring at all. It wasn't until he finished two laps that he saw a string of missed calls from Hughes. He called back immediately.
"What happened?"
"Sir, you finally called back! There's a fire at the auction house. I'm outside and saw the Marshal and Joel Xavier. From what they were saying, it sounds like Seraphina Sterling is trapped inside. She still hasn't come out!" Hughes's voice was low and heavy, and he spoke much faster than usual. The urgency of the situation was palpable.
The moment Terrence Grant heard this, he crushed the soda can in his hand, jumped into his car, and slammed the accelerator to the floor.
"Contact Ronan Winters—" Terrence Grant didn't even finish his sentence before a massive explosion—BOOM—erupted from the other end of the line. His heart seized. "Hughes! What happened?"
