Chapter 49 - Chapter 49: "Such an Ingrate Doesn't Deserve to Be My Sister's Child!"

Laxus turned swiftly at the sound, his eyes gleaming with a faint, vigilant light as he scanned his surroundings.

During the rainy season, many tribespeople lost their homes and families or were driven out. To survive, they would do anything, even threatening those with shelter to part with their food and seizing their homes. There were even starving beasts driven mad by hunger that would attack people. Laxus remained highly cautious, ready for battle at a moment's notice.

Seeing this, Loki quickly hid behind a nearby large tree, but his shadow cast upon the ground gave him away.

Laxus narrowed his eyes. He carefully edged toward the tree and swiftly threw a punch in Loki's direction.

"Don't! Don't attack, it's me, Loki!" Cradling Amy in his arms, Loki didn't have a free hand to defend himself. He could only shout to reveal his identity.

Laxus halted his fist. His eyes brimmed with disgust and disdain as he looked at Loki. "What are you doing here?"
