Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Going to Rongcheng

Fortunately, Qi Fei wasn't a slow learner; otherwise, she wouldn't have gotten into the Modu Drama Academy.

Two hours later, Qi Fei could smoothly drive forward, reverse, and execute a reverse park, albeit with much hesitation.

"Alright, time to switch and take a break! Park the car first."

After the car was parked, Coach Wang got out, grabbed two bottles of water from the trunk, and handed them to Wu Yun and Qi Fei. His tone softened. "That's progress. You just need more practice. Wu Yun, you do a few more laps while Qi Fei rests. Then you can switch again."

...........

Time flew by, and soon it was noon. Wu Yun treated the two of them to lunch at a local specialty restaurant on West Tuojiang Road.

During the meal, Wu Yun explained his plans. "Coach, I have to go to Rongcheng tomorrow. I might be there for two or three days, but I'll come back to practice after."

"Sure, no problem. With your skills, you'll be fine even if you just practice a bit more right before the test."

"I'll practice with you again this afternoon, Senior. You got this!" Wu Yun waved his phone with a smug grin, causing Qi Fei's face to turn beet red. She couldn't believe Wu Yun had seen her embarrassing past.

After lunch, Coach Wang asked for their opinions, and the three of them ended up at a teahouse until three in the afternoon, when they returned to the training grounds.

During the afternoon session, Coach Wang simply handed Qi Fei off to Wu Yun, telling him to supervise her reverse parking practice. Then, Coach Wang vanished into a group of coaches huddled in the pavilion.

With only Wu Yun left sitting in the passenger seat, Qi Fei breathed a sigh of relief, then playfully snapped, "Don't you laugh! If you laugh again, I'll take you down with me!"

Wu Yun quickly wiped the smile off his face and leaned over toward the driver's side.

"What are you doing?" Qi Fei asked, leaning away slightly and frowning, thinking he was about to try something.

Wu Yun, taking in Qi Fei's fresh scent, didn't do anything inappropriate. Instead, he said, "I'm checking to see if the coach put the block on the accelerator. I'm afraid you might actually try to take us both down."

It wasn't unheard of for female students to crash through the driving school's walls.

Seeing Wu Yun's cautious, life-cherishing expression, Qi Fei couldn't help but cover her mouth and giggle. "Relax, I'm not ready to die just yet. Hurry up! Watch me, I'm going to practice."

..........

On his way home after practice, Wu Yun saw that the store where he'd bought the lottery ticket two days ago now had a banner hanging up: "Congratulations to a customer of this store for winning the 62.5 million grand prize!"

Wu Yun quickly covered his face and hurried home.

After dinner, Wu Yun got into a pre-booked rideshare and headed straight for Rongcheng.

In the car, Wu Yun chatted while looking at a complaint Qi Fei had sent him, saying her left foot was about to cramp up and she was getting sick of driving.

Wu Yun replied with a smile, suggesting she wear sneakers to practice next time.

Over the course of the day, Wu Yun had confirmed that Qi Fei's cold demeanor when she first signed up was just a front. Now that they were more familiar with each other, he knew she was actually a very cheerful girl.

......

Seeing the blissful smile on Wu Yun's face, the driver couldn't help but ask, "Chatting with your girlfriend, young man? You look so happy."

Wu Yun turned off his phone and said, "Not my girlfriend yet. Just a friend."

"I really envy you young people. Back in my day, many of us had arranged marriages. I've never even experienced this kind of romance!" the middle-aged driver said with envy.

"Sir, at least back in your day, the material requirements for marriage weren't as high," Wu Yun replied, having lived through that materialistic era before.

"I'm surprised you know so much at your age. Young man, what are you going to Rongcheng for? I see your destination is set to Sichuan University's West China Hospital," the driver, who was quite talkative, said.

"I'm visiting a classmate. He's hospitalized there." Wu Yun understood the principle of not flaunting your wealth, so he had set his destination to West China Hospital, which was near the lottery center.

"Is it some serious illness, to have to go all the way there..."

Wu Yun made small talk with the driver the whole way, occasionally looking down to reply to Qi Fei's messages, playing the part of a curious newbie asking all sorts of questions.

Soon, Wu Yun was dropped off at the main entrance of Sichuan University's West China Hospital. After watching the driver pull away, he followed his phone's navigation to a modest hotel he had booked beforehand.

「July 5th」

After sleeping in, Wu Yun got up, eagerly got dressed, checked out of the hotel, and appeared outside the prize redemption center.

Standing at the entrance, Wu Yun had an awkward realization: it was Saturday, and the redemption center was closed. There was also another, more important problem—he was at the wrong place. This was the Sports Lottery redemption center.

'Ah, forget it! I'll just treat it as coming to Rongcheng early to have some fun and experience the local culture. Even though I knew this city like the back of my hand before my rebirth.'

'I can't be so impulsive in the future. Stay calm. Isn't it just fifty million?!' Wu Yun comforted himself. Growth was always happening imperceptibly.

At Taikoo Li, not even the high temperature could dampen the crowd's enthusiasm.

A certain shopping mall was bustling with people. Scantily clad beautiful women were everywhere, with long legs, shorts, and miniskirts on full display.

Wu Yun had been here many times and had accompanied quite a few girls here before. But what was different from his previous life was that Wu Yun was now handsome and rich! Although the money hadn't arrived in his account yet.

Many beautiful women even took the initiative to look at Wu Yun as they walked through the entrance. A handsome young stud could always make the ladies take a second look!

'No wonder everyone online says Rongcheng is full of beauties. The number of girls with a beauty score of 75 or higher is at least ten times more than in Jingyang!' Wu Yun thought to himself, sipping an iced drink as he scanned the crowd with his glasses.

Strolling and admiring the local scenery, Wu Yun unconsciously wandered over to IFS. He stopped in front of a very stylish boutique, looking at the English words written on the sign: BOTTEGA VENETA.

Wu Yun wasn't familiar with luxury brands, only knowing LV and Chanel. So he used his phone to translate the two words.

The Chinese name of this boutique, Bottega Veneta, did ring a bell.

Wu Yun saw what people online said about Bottega Veneta.

"When you don't know what to use to express your fashion sense, you can choose LV. But when you no longer need anything to express your fashion sense, you can choose BV."

In short, the online consensus was that Bottega Veneta was an incredibly high-class brand. And indeed, Bottega Veneta's design and craftsmanship far surpassed those of comparable brands, which was a key reason for its strong following among gentlemen and elites.

Seeing online that Bottega Veneta wallets were generally priced around a few thousand yuan, Wu Yun instantly felt his confidence swell.

Entering the Bottega Veneta boutique, the lighting combined with the decor style to create a serene and aesthetically pleasing warm-toned ambiance.

"Good afternoon, sir. How may I help you?"

The moment Wu Yun stepped inside, a beautiful sales associate—with a score of 82 in his glasses—greeted him with a smile.

Although Wu Yun's attire was plain to see for these sales associates with their eagle eyes, and he looked to be only eighteen or nineteen, he was exuding confidence!

Besides, the bigger the city, the more low-key people there were. The cliché trope of a snooty sales associate looking down on someone only to be proven wrong rarely happened in the sales industry anymore.
