Silas's gaze was suspicious and confused, with a hint of scrutiny as he sized her up. Joyce quickly said, "Silas, don't listen to Leo's nonsense."
"What did he say?" Silas raised an eyebrow.
'He didn't hear?'
Joyce breathed a sigh of relief. "It's getting late. You should get some rest."
As the guest room door closed, she finally let go of the hand covering her brother's mouth and warned in a hushed voice, "Leo Monroe, if you dare spout any more nonsense, you can get back to Springhill Manor."
Leo Monroe sighed. "Just look at you. I say a few words of truth, and this is how my sister treats me? Disgusted. Sigh... I guess it just proves the old saying, 'out with the old, in with the new.' I'm not my sister's one-and-only treasure anymore."
