The moment Zoe Rhodes looked up, Zane Hawthorne knew what she was going to say.
Without a moment's hesitation, he refused before she could even speak. "No."
"..."
Zoe Rhodes slumped back into her chair. "Then what do you suggest I do?"
"That Donovan Donovan is so unpredictable. If he finds out my brother likes Linda Sullivan, he'll definitely stop at nothing to steal her away!"
'So, for me, the best solution is to solve the problem at its root: prevent them from meeting in the first place!'
'If Donovan sets his sights on Linda now, I won't be able to compete with him!'
Zane Hawthorne couldn't let Zoe Rhodes appear before Donovan Donovan again. No matter what Donovan was planning, he wouldn't let Zoe take that risk.
"How about this? Tomorrow, I'll go and keep an eye on those two for you. I'll make sure they don't have a chance to interact. Is that okay?"
Of course, Zoe thought that was okay. "But are you sure you have the time?"
She was worried Zane was too busy.
