After listening to Summer Thorne's accusations, Timothy York finally spoke.
"You can have a free life, of course."
He said.
Summer Thorne gave a choked laugh.
She turned back to survey the unfamiliar hotel room. "Is this what freedom is supposed to look like?"
"This room is just a precaution," Timothy York said. "If you don't want to stay here, you can go back to Kingscrest tomorrow."
Hearing this, Summer Thorne turned to face him again and said softly, "You know that's not what I'm talking about."
Timothy York met her gaze. After a long moment, he brought her hand to his lips once more and whispered, "Ava, don't give up on me."
His voice was so soft it left Summer Thorne feeling dazed.
He was the one who had made every decision on his own, the one who had let things get to this point.
Yet those words sounded almost like a prayer.
He knew Summer Thorne had seen through everything.
