Summer Thorne thought she must have misheard him.
She couldn't help but lean forward, staring intently at Timothy York. "What did you say?"
Even before this happened, Timothy York had accurately predicted how she would react.
He knew she would try to avoid the issue, or even leave for a while. That was why he had resorted to such a self-destructive method—all to keep her by his side.
'But now, he was completely undoing everything he had done, telling her to leave for a while?'
Summer Thorne thought she must have misunderstood something. Before Timothy York could answer, she asked again, "Do you mean we should leave together?"
Timothy York lowered his gaze. "No," he said after a moment. "You're leaving by yourself."
For a moment, Summer Thorne was at a complete loss for how to react.
She just stared at Timothy York for a long moment before finally asking, "Why?"
"I have a lot to deal with coming up. I might get very busy, and I won't be able to look after you anymore."
