The smile in Titus Morgan's eyes faded a bit more. "What makes you say that?"
"He's gentle, refined, polite, and very knowledgeable," Summer Thorne said. "It's hard to imagine what he'd be like now if he hadn't spent those eighteen years bedridden."
Titus Morgan sneered. "What would he be like? The entire Monroe Group would probably be his by now."
Summer Thorne paused. "Huh?"
Titus Morgan seemed to realize he'd said too much. He paused for a moment before smiling again. "It's just one possibility, that's all."
"You don't seem to like him very much?" Summer Thorne asked.
Titus Morgan countered, "Don't tell me you like him?"
Summer Thorne was quiet for a moment and didn't answer.
Titus Morgan added, "A moment ago, you said he was 'an intriguing person,' not 'someone worth getting involved with.' You're so smart. When I first tried to get close to you, you saw my real motives in a single glance. You can't possibly be this easily enchanted by him, can you?"
