"I know a little about your past," Laura Thorne said. "There was a misunderstanding between you two back then, so you can't be entirely blamed for what happened. You seem to have changed a lot recently. At least… I haven't seen you in any scandalous news. Is it because of her?"
Mason Crawford still didn't give a direct answer. "And what if it is? What if it isn't?"
"If it isn't, then let's pretend we never met today," Laura Thorne said. "But if it is, then I, as her birth mother, will entrust her to you. I hope that in the future, no matter what happens, you will keep her safe."
Hearing this, Mason Crawford narrowed his eyes slightly. "What do you mean by that?"
