Summer Thorne watched the confusion on Silas Dunn's face, let out a soft laugh, and finally spoke.
"I believe your statement has two misconceptions, Mr. Dunn. First, even if some people think loving someone means giving your all, that only applies to some people, not everyone. Second, I don't love him."
Silas Dunn laughed as well. "Summer Thorne, we're both reasonable people. I know what you're thinking and I understand your feelings. You don't have to pretend with me."
Summer Thorne regarded him calmly. "And what is it you understand? Mr. Dunn, you're always going on about 'virgins only,' yet in all the time I've known you, I've never seen a single woman by your side. If I'm not mistaken, you're completely clueless when it comes to relationships. So you wouldn't know that getting swept up in the heat of the moment happens all the time when men and women are involved. But that kind of confusion is fleeting. It never lasts. So it's a far cry from what one would call 'love.'"
