Hearing Silas Dunn's question, Timothy York slowly looked up and glanced at him.
Just from that one look, Silas Dunn already had his answer.
"She still doesn't know anything, right?" Silas Dunn asked.
Timothy York lowered his gaze. "Is it that important?"
"If you say it's important, then it is. If you say it's not, then who's to say otherwise?" Silas Dunn chuckled, leaning back in his chair to look at him. "Either way, whatever happens with her won't affect me at all."
At his words, Timothy York looked up at him again.
Silas Dunn was looking right back at him. After a long moment, he asked, with a voice full of anguish—
"Timothy York, don't tell me... you really can't live without her?"
Timothy York neither confirmed nor denied it, simply tossing a file onto the table in front of him.
It was like punching a pillow. All the words of caution Silas Dunn had been ready to unleash were left unsaid.
