Chapter 3 - Chapter 1 Part 2

Chapter 1 Part 2 Curtains fluttered by the hospital room window. In the place filled with refreshing air, a handsome man was looking at me. Not just a handsome man, but a very handsome one, extremely fine-looking, remarkably beautiful, unbelievably... a handsome man who, ominously enough, seemed to resemble someone.

And he was much too close.

What on earth was this situation?

Held tightly in the arms of a handsome man I was seeing for the first time, I forcibly made my sluggish head work. The arm wrapped around my waist tightened even more.

I became automatically aware of his firm chest. Where we were touching was especially hot.

At this rate our lips would touch. Feeling his breath brush my mouth, I pulled my head back, but he was still close.

No matter how handsome he was, this was ridiculous. Why was my heart acting like this? This was something that should have gone into the dark history of my life. Giha, nineteen years old. My heart was racing because I was in a handsome man's arms.

"Who exactly are you?" I desperately forced out my voice and asked. I had heard the answer earlier, but I had not believed it.

There was no way this could be reality.

"I told you. Yeo Saebyeok."

The handsome man who was very, incredibly handsome, looked a little like Yeo Saebyeok, yet could absolutely not be Yeo Saebyeok, answered.

"Did you just wake up, so you're out of it? Want some water?" A voice lower than Yeo Saebyeok's dropped into my ears.

This really felt strange. My face naturally grew hot, and I hurriedly pushed away the man claiming to be Yeo Saebyeok.

"No. There's no way you're Yeo Saebyeok. How old are you?"

"What?"

"Yeo Saebyeok is nineteen."

The handsome man's expression changed sharply after hearing my words. The worried look from earlier disappeared, and his face stiffened abruptly.

"Giha."

"Yes?"

While I was flustered and stammering, the man roughly ran a hand over his dry face.

"Are you really not joking? You seriously mean that?"

Why would I make this kind of joke in the first place? Especially to someone I was meeting for the first time.

The man, who had been studying my utterly serious expression, let out a long sigh.

"Do you happen to know how old you think you are right now?"

"Nineteen. Or, eighteen?"

At that answer, the expression on the face of the man who resembled Yeo Saebyeok quietly sank.

"...No."

"What do you mean, no...?" When I stammered awkwardly, the man took hold of my shoulders and spoke slowly.

"Giha, you're twenty-nine."

Twenty-nine.

The number spoken by the unfamiliar man before my eyes rose and spread through my head like some kind of code.

Giha, twenty-nine? A number that did not connect to my name at all drifted through my mind along with a question mark.

A question was thrown at my dazed self once again.

"Do you, by any chance, not remember?"
