Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Ancient Titan And The Fist

Annapolis walked through the market, browsing the products displayed on oak tables. Items ranged from the doughy texture of whole wheat bread, to the earthy scent of harvested crops, to the sizzling steam rising from the bison and beef in the protein section. The sun beamed down on the crowd, the area filling with the chatter of people just getting by.

Annapolis shook her head from side to side, eyeing the wide variety of shopping she could get done. Stroking her chin, her eyes narrowed in serious contemplation. Onlookers covered their mouths, trying not to laugh at the adventurer's lack of muscle mass, but Annapolis paid the mockery no attention.

"Right, now what did I come here for? I suppose my pantry ran out of salt. But that porkchop looks so good. I could melt right here." Drool trailed down her chin. Shaking her head, she snapped out of the trance by slapping her own cheeks, leaving bright red handprints behind. "Focus Annapolis, remember the salt."

She moved through the stalls, searching for her target. When she finally made it to the seasonings, her eyes lit up as if she'd found a treasure chest in a dungeon. Her pace hastened, but just as she was about to buy it—

BOOM.

The ground violently shook as a massive, foot-shaped crater caved in. A fifty-foot giant of enchanted stone stomped through the kingdom, treating buildings like minor obstacles. Its single eye glowed with a mix of black and red, with deer antlers sticking out from the sides of its head. People screamed, frantically running for safety.

On the titan's left shoulder, a smaller figure started cackling, his voice echoing throughout the kingdom. "Ahahahaha! Yes, this is the peak of conjuration! I did it! I spent my entire life studying conjuration because it was the only thing I was good at. But everyone kept mocking me, saying I would never achieve peak power. I shall kill everyone who dared mock me!"

Meanwhile, perched on the titan's right shoulder was a woman with twig arms, a white linen shirt, and brown hair. Annapolis blankly looked up at the rock titan as if it were a boring news report.

"Polish your rocks."

The conjurer's jaw dropped. Pointing at the adventurer, he ordered his greatest creation: "Right there on your shoulder—kill her now!"

The rock titan's hand came up like a wrecking ball, clamping down with immense strength. But instead of crushing Annapolis on its right shoulder, it pulverized its master on the left.

Annapolis raised an eyebrow, pointing down at the stone fist. "Wrong shoulder. I'm on the other one."

The rock titan's clocktower-sized pupil slowly dragged over to Annapolis. It grabbed her off its shoulder with a rough, massive hand, squeezing with enough grip strength to crush any normal human's spine. Annapolis didn't even flinch, her gaze remaining a steady anchor of boredom.

Frustrated by its failure, the titan launched her through the air like an explosive bullet. She smashed through the roof of the castle, shattering glass and tearing down the flag before another building finally stopped her momentum.

The titan dashed forward at speeds surprising for its size, vanishing in an instant as homes and roads crumbled to dust beneath its feet. Letting out a distorted screech of rage, it brought both hands down, slamming Annapolis into the ground. The building was instantly reduced to debris, forming a massive crater and sending a shockwave through the air.

Despite the impact, the adventurer just lay there, arms and legs sprawled out with a blank expression. The titan unleashed a barrage of punches at the speed of a hummingbird's wings. Roaring, it fired a beam of red energy from its singular eye, triggering an explosion of ozone and asphalt.

Annapolis let out a sigh of disappointment. She slowly got up and patted the debris off her trousers, her fair skin covered in dirt and soot. Deciding to end this, she squatted low and launched herself into the air.

Annapolis reached the rock titan's head before it could even react. Her fist shot out like a rocket.

BANG.

The impact exploded the titan's jawline into dust. The rest of its massive body tumbled backward, slowly collapsing onto the remains of the kingdom and flattening whatever was left.

Falling back down to earth, Annapolis flinched slightly at the scale of the destruction. She raised an eyebrow. "Whoops."

[Kingdom 43 has been destroyed.]
