It was boring, and I felt it was intentional.
The officials mostly spoke, and while I was following the explanations being shared, I also had to deal with Fashire's pointed stare since he barely said anything.
His siblings, despite their initial hostility, seemed at ease, and oddly enough, Iacob wasn't here. Still, the vitriol I had expected toward Fashire, was strangely muted.
It slightly annoyed me, but then again, they had barely looked at him when he had made me a target before.
At the end of it, the officials filed out one by one, and the tension grew even higher when his siblings left, with Dana casting one last glance at us before finally closing the door behind them.
The air felt a bit suffocating, but I refused to run from him.
Fashire shifted in his seat, and I caught the surprise in his eyes as he turned to face me.
"You're still here."
"Did you not tell me to wait behind?" I kept my voice flat. "I am not unreasonable, unlike a certain someone."
