¬ Hiln
A whole day had passed since I woke up.
Which meant there were two more left.
Maybelle had brought me things. Books with unfamiliar scripts, a few small puzzles made of interlocking metal, and other strange things I didn't even know how to use so I could entertain myself.
They all sat untouched.
There was also a tray of food that sat untouched at the foot of the bed, and it had gone cold hours ago.
I had spent most of my time sleeping over the past day, and when I wasn't sleeping, I was trying to understand the lines.
I still couldn't control them.
I was leaning against the headboard and staring at nothing when the door opened again. I was tired of hearing that sound, and I shifted, about to tell Maybelle to maybe not even enter for the rest of the day when Hildegard walked in.
What did he even want? I doubted he had come to just check up on me. I had told Effer and Maybelle to let me be. What was this?
"Hiln."
