Chapter 2 - Lost In The Pursuit

Riya was one of those people who grew up believing that happiness was something to be earned. That would arrived only after getting all success. As a child, she was taught, directly and indirectly, that good grades in school would lead to a good college, a good grades in college would lead to a high-paying job, and that high - paying job would eventually bring her in the life everyone admired. Slowly, this belief became the center of her existence.

Riya worked hard from a young age. While other played, she studied. While her friends built memories she focused on her goals. She convinced herself that these all small sacrifice will bring happiness in future, one day, all of it would be worth it. Her world became a checklist of achievements, and her self-worth depended entirely on how much he could accomplish.

As she grew older, She worked day and night, often ignoring his own needs. Sleep became a luxury, friendships faded into distant memories, and family gatherings turned into obligations she rarely fulfilled. She missed birthdays, festivals, and simple moments of connection, telling herself, "I'll make time later, once I've achieved everything."

Years passed, and Riya did achieve everything she had once dreamed of. She secured a prestigious job with a high salary. She has a beautiful house in the city, furnished it with the finest things, and owned a luxurious car. By all external standards, she had "made it." People admired him, envied her, and saw her as a symbol of success.

But reality felt very different from what she had imagined.
