Class S was where the "Gods" of the academy sat. It was a room filled with future CEOs, world-class athletes, and heirs to oil empires.
When Yuna walked in, the air turned cold.
"This must be a mistake," Chloe, the school's "Princess" and top-ranked influencer, laughed. "The janitor's closet is down the hall, sweetie."
Yuna ignored her, heading for the only empty desk—the one in the very back corner.
"You can't sit there," a boy whispered, terrified. "That's Jaxon's 'Dead Zone.' Nobody sits within three feet of him."
"It's a desk, not a biohazard," Yuna replied, pulling out a battered notebook.
Suddenly, the door swung open. Jaxon walked in, his aura even darker than before. He scanned the room until his eyes landed on the hoodie-wearing girl in "his" territory. He marched over and slammed his hand on her desk.
"You," he growled. "How did you know about the gate?"
Yuna didn't look up from her notebook. She was drawing what looked like complex circuit diagrams. "Structural stress is easy to calculate if you pay attention to the sound of the wind. Most people here are too loud to hear anything."
The teacher, a man known for his PhD in Advanced Calculus and his hatred for slow students, cleared his throat. "Since our new 'guest' is so talkative, perhaps she can solve the problem on the board? It's a 12th-grade Olympian-level equation. No one in this class has solved it yet."
The class smirked. They wanted to see the "Scholarship Girl" fail.
Yuna stood up. She walked to the board, picked up the chalk, and didn't even pause to think.
Clack. Clack. Clack.
She filled the entire board in forty seconds. But she didn't stop at the answer. She wrote a second, more elegant proof underneath it.
"Your textbook is outdated, Professor," Yuna said, dropping the chalk. "This formula was disproven in a research paper in Zurich last night at 2:00 AM. I suggest you update your curriculum."
She sat back down. The Professor was speechless. Jaxon's eyes narrowed.
Who is this girl? he wondered. And why does she look like she's bored by a world we're all fighting to conquer?
