"I've got something! Records of time reversals!"
Rohan continued patiently flipping through the pages until he finally caught the keyword on this year's entry—the description of Yoshikage Kira obtaining his new Third Bomb.
"Huh? This... what's going on here?"
But Rohan's elation vanished as quickly as it had come. His face went pale, and Inori—knowing something unexpected had come up—threw caution aside, stepped down into the pit, and leaned in close to read the text for herself. The facts that Yoshikage Kira had once experienced, written across his body:
—April 8th. Resigned from Kameyu Department Store. Confirmed that the "extra person" does indeed exist. Discussed with his father a plan to use the special Stand Arrow to create Stand users, in preparation for the coming confrontation with Inori and her allies.
—April 10th. Gave "Soft & Wet" to Junpei Kaihara—a petty punk Josuke once beat up for insulting his hair. But the fool failed spectacularly. The battle between Inori and Jotaro Kujo also ended without a clear result, and instead only accelerated their alliance.
—April 11th. Stationed Born This Way to guard the only approach to his house, then went searching for more Stand-compatible individuals.
Spotted Inori and Rohan Kishibe behind Kameyu Department Store. Was shocked by how quickly they'd joined forces. Tailed Rohan to the cemetery, attempted to eliminate him but failed repeatedly. Was ultimately forced to sacrifice his hand to abandon Sheer Heart Attack and escape.
—That evening, Father Yoshihiro found three members of a Kyoto yakuza gang who had fled here to dodge their debts. Awakened their Stands and, using the Kira ancestral home as collateral, enlisted their assistance.
—The morning of April 12th. Despite knowing in advance that Inori's group would attack, discussed countermeasures—only for Tamaki Damo's Stand to ambush first. The Arrow was seized. Died.
A few sparse sentences that encompassed the entirety of Yoshikage Kira's actions up to the present day. Apart from some unnecessary emotional descriptions, the account aligned almost perfectly with everything Inori currently knew. Yet there was no mention whatsoever of his Third Bomb.
"There don't seem to be any memories here of his time reversals..."
Inori clicked her tongue, brow furrowed. This was troubling.
"Nothing to be done about it."
Rohan shook his head with a sigh.
"Heaven's Door can read a living person's entire memory. But this is just a corpse. It's like vacuum-sealed chicken at the supermarket—you can read the expiration date, but you can't use it to learn what the chicken experienced during its lifetime."
"What we can confirm is that this body is definitively Yoshikage Kira."
Rohan picked up the left arm—sure enough, the hand was gone. And the face matched the photographs he and Jotaro had seen inside the Kira Residence exactly.
"But the secret behind his Stand still hasn't been solved."
Inori pressed a hand to her forehead, visibly frustrated.
No matter how much ironclad evidence was laid before her, she refused to believe Yoshikage Kira was truly dead. This man was not so fragile. This was the final boss of JOJO Part 4: Diamond Is Unbreakable!
"Forget about all those secrets, Onee-san. Since the guy's dead, doesn't that mean our mission's accomplished?"
Josuke hadn't thought that deeply about it. He was seeing Yoshikage Kira's face for the first time, and the corpse right here—confirmed as the real deal, no disguise, no body double—seemed like case closed to him. What was there left to argue?
"Inori, what are you thinking?"
Jotaro noticed the girl's solemn expression and tightly knit brow.
"I want to know what Yoshikage Kira's Third Bomb actually does."
"That doesn't matter anymore, does it, Onee-san?" Josuke had never seen Inori this troubled—she hadn't even looked this tense when her Stand was stolen. "He's already dead. Rohan proved it, didn't he?"
—It can't be this simple! He must have used some method to create this perfect illusion while he's hiding somewhere, living it up!
Inori snapped her gaze up to meet Josuke's. Those fierce, paired red eyes made him flinch. She wanted to shout a rebuttal, but the words died on her tongue before she could voice them.
"Maybe... I'm overthinking it."
After a long silence, that was all she could manage—a quiet, reluctant concession.
Because she realized she couldn't produce a single argument to convince them. All she had was a feeling. Something she couldn't articulate or explain—an instinct that the man was still alive. That Morioh's devil, Yoshikage Kira, had not been vanquished.
"Don't dwell on it, Inori."
Jotaro spoke with the weight of experience.
"Plenty of powerful Stand users die just like this—unremarkable, without explanation. Reality doesn't work like the movies. It doesn't give the strong and larger-than-life some grand, dramatic send-off."
"Yeah. I understand, Jotaro-san." Inori nodded, easing the tension in her shoulders just slightly.
"Let's go home."
...
...
Shinobu Kawajiri—a young, attractive housewife—was currently sprawled on the sofa with absolutely nothing to do. Dinner time had long since passed, but she had zero desire to get up and cook.
She and her son had already eaten out. If she bothered making dinner now, the only one who'd eat it was her husband, Kosaku Kawajiri, who still hadn't come home.
Shinobu had never loved her husband. He was perfectly adequate on paper—didn't drink, didn't smoke, diligent and career-minded—but he was just so boring. His brain seemed to run on exactly four settings: eat, bathe, sleep, then go to work. Not an ounce of romance or charm.
Footsteps sounded from the entryway. Shinobu couldn't be bothered to look.
"I'm home."
The same flat, familiar tone. Her husband, Kosaku Kawajiri.
The tall man in a white suit walked slowly to the dining table, only to find it completely, spotlessly bare.
"Where's dinner?"
He looked at his wife on the sofa.
"Oh? You're back." Shinobu deliberately put on an expression of annoyance. "Didn't even notice. Hayato and I ate out. If you're hungry, just make yourself some instant noodles."
"That's your favorite kind of thing anyway, right? Quick. No fuss. Isn't it?"
The wife on the sofa quirked a faintly contemptuous, provocative smile at him. Any other man probably would've blown his top by now. But Shinobu knew her husband—he'd just take it in silence, sit down, and eat his noodles without a word. What a joke.
"Mori\~Mori\~Mori\~Mori\~Morioh-cho\~Radio\~"
"Good evening, everyone! This is Morioh Radio, and I'm your friendly neighbor Kai Harada! Spring may be here, but please stay warm on these chilly evenings!"
The sudden burst of the radio host's voice startled Shinobu. She looked up in surprise—and found her husband taking ingredients out of the refrigerator, arranging them neatly, and beginning to cook.
"What are you... doing?"
Shinobu stared, dumbfounded. She never knew her husband could cook.
"Making dinner."
Kosaku Kawajiri turned to look at his wife and smiled.
Shinobu found that smile unfamiliar. It didn't match the stiff, rigid man she remembered at all. Far too gentle.
"Would you like some?"
"No... I already ate." The answer came out reflexively.
"Then how about a glass of wine?" Kosaku smiled. He recalled the half-finished bottle of red in the fridge. "Sitting around with nothing to do is boring. Why don't we chat for a while, Shinobu?"
—Huh? Huh?
Shinobu's face flushed scarlet.
It was mortifying that an invitation to drink from her own husband—the man she'd been sharing a bed with—could make her blush. But Shinobu didn't understand why herself. In all the years since their marriage, she had never once felt her heart flutter like this for this man.
"All right... darling."
She fidgeted, answering in a small, tender murmur.
