The smell of something burning woke me up. I opened my eyes to see my father set fire to my mother's hair. Mother is lying on the floor. Her eyes are closed, hands and feet tied with rope. Thick black hair is spread for several feet. Mother is unconscious.
I said in a fearful voice, "What are you doing?"
Father looked at me. He said in a calm voice, "I'm doing nothing. Go to sleep."
"Mother? Why is Mother lying there?"
"Nothing has happened to your mother. She is lying right beside you. You are seeing things wrong."
