The small hut that Tempest pulled Dron in was a far cry from their space back home.
The bed was small, the walls bare, and there was a layer of dust on nearly every surface. It didn't matter though.
All that mattered was that Dron was next to her.
She turned and looked up at him.
His eyes locked onto hers.
Neither of them spoke for a moment, it was almost as if they were connecting all over again. Not their bodies but their souls.
Slowly, Dron reached up his hand and caressed her face.
His fingers shook slightly.
Tempest noticed that along with the tremble, there was something different about his face. As if he'd worn a mask of worry the entire time that he was gone and it had left wrinkles on his face.
"I'm here, Dron. I'm here." she whispered and just as she thought he nearly melted with relief.
"I thought I was strong. Thought I'd be able to get through this mission and make it back to you but I'm not. I've been going out of my mind every day that you were away."
