Chapter 1 - Chapter 0: The Fallen Star

The capsule stood quietly behind the glass display, almost as if it was waiting for someone.

Suho had passed by this shop more times than he could count. Every day after work, sometimes even before his shift, he would stop for just a few seconds and stare at it. The smooth surface, the dim blue light running along its edges, the silent promise it carried—it all felt unreal.

Inside that capsule was another world.

A better one.

He tightened his grip on the plastic bag in his hand. Inside were cheap groceries—instant noodles, bread, and a small bottle of juice. Just enough to get him through the next two days.

"Still looking at it?"

The voice came from inside the shop. The owner, an older man with tired eyes, leaned against the counter as he watched Suho through the glass.

Suho pushed the door open and stepped inside.

"I come here a lot, don't I?" he said with a small smile.

The man chuckled. "You don't just come. You stand there like you're in love with it."

Suho didn't deny it.

He walked closer to the capsule. Up close, it looked even more expensive. The label beneath it read:

Immersion Reality Capsule — IR Compatible System

"You know the price hasn't changed," the owner said.

"I know."

"And you still can't afford it."

Suho nodded slowly.

"I know."

There was a brief silence between them.

Then Suho reached into his pocket and placed a folded stack of cash on the counter.

The owner looked at it, then at him.

"You're serious?"

"I've been working part-time for months," Suho said. "Morning shifts, night shifts… whatever I could get."

The man frowned. "You're still a student."

"I needed it."

The owner sighed and picked up the money, counting it carefully. When he finished, he shook his head slightly, but there was a faint smile on his face.

"You really went all in for this."

Suho didn't say anything.

"Alright," the man continued. "It's yours."

For a moment, Suho just stood there, not moving.

Then he let out a breath he didn't even realize he had been holding.

---

The capsule felt heavier than he expected.

Carrying it home was exhausting, but he didn't stop even once. Every step felt important. Like if he slowed down, something would go wrong.

By the time he reached his small apartment, his arms were sore and his shirt was damp with sweat.

He placed the capsule carefully on the floor.

The room was small. Barely enough space for a bed, a table, and a chair. Now, with the capsule inside, it felt even tighter.

But he didn't care.

To him, it felt like everything had finally started.

---

That night, he didn't sleep.

He set up the capsule, following the instructions step by step. It took longer than expected, but he didn't rush. Every wire, every connection—he made sure everything was perfect.

When it was finally ready, he stood in front of it for a long time.

This was it.

The moment he had been waiting for.

He opened the lid and lay inside.

The interior adjusted automatically, fitting perfectly to his body. A soft hum filled his ears as the system powered on.

His heartbeat picked up.

Then—

Darkness.

---

A faint light appeared.

Then another.

And another.

Until suddenly—

Everything changed.

---

A vast sky stretched endlessly above him.

Mountains stood in the distance, their peaks covered in mist. A gentle wind brushed past him, carrying the scent of grass and something unfamiliar.

It felt real.

Too real.

A transparent window appeared in front of him.

[Welcome to Immersion Reality]

Suho stared at it.

This wasn't just a game.

It felt like he had stepped into another life.

He hesitated for a second.

Then he typed:

Viper

---

The early days were not easy.

Most players had already started ahead of him. Some had better equipment, others had more experience. He was behind in almost every way.

But Suho didn't mind.

He had nothing else.

No connections.

No special background.

Just time and determination.

And so, he kept playing.

---

Days turned into weeks.

Weeks turned into months.

And slowly, things began to change.

---

People started to notice him.

At first, it was small things.

Clearing a dungeon faster than expected.

Defeating a boss alone.

Completing quests others avoided.

Then it became bigger.

---

"Who is this Viper?"

"I've seen that name before."

"He's climbing too fast."

---

Suho didn't respond to any of it.

He kept playing the same way he always had.

Quietly.

Carefully.

Relentlessly.

---

A year passed.

Then another.

---

By the third year, his name was no longer unknown.

It was everywhere.

---

Rankings updated weekly.

Players watched them closely.

Every movement mattered.

Every change sparked discussion.

---

And one day—

A name appeared where no one expected it.

---

Rank 2 — Korea: Viper

---

The entire community exploded.

---

"Who is he?!"

"He came out of nowhere!"

"He's not even in a guild!"

---

But Suho didn't stop there.

---

He kept climbing.

---

Until—

---

Rank 6 — Worldwide

---

That was the moment everything changed.

---

He was invited.

Chosen.

Recognized.

---

And soon after—

He became one of them.

---

The Eight Stars.

---

The strongest players in the world.

---

Each of them stood at the top.

Each of them represented something beyond normal players.

And among them—

Viper stood as the Sixth Star.

---

For a while, everything felt stable.

The game continued.

Players kept growing stronger.

And the world of Immersion Reality became more than just a game.

It became a second reality.

---

No one expected what came next.

---

It started quietly.

A strange disturbance.

A glitch that couldn't be explained.

---

Then—

The sky cracked.

---

It wasn't in the game.

It was in the real world.

---

A tear appeared in the air.

And from it—

Something fell.

---

Monsters.

---

Real ones.

---

Cities were the first to fall.

Buildings collapsed.

People ran.

But there was nowhere to go.

---

Weapons didn't work.

Military forces tried to respond, but it was useless.

Nothing they had could stop the creatures pouring out from the rift.

---

Panic spread quickly.

---

"This can't be real…"

"What is happening…?"

---

The world was breaking.

---

Then—

Someone fought back.

---

Not soldiers.

Not trained fighters.

---

Players.

---

Those who had spent years inside Immersion Reality—

Now stood against the monsters.

---

Their abilities worked.

Their strength remained.

Their skills carried over.

---

For the first time—

There was hope.

---

And leading them—

Were the Eight Stars.

---

They became symbols.

Not just of power—

But of survival.

---

Suho fought alongside them.

Day after day.

Battle after battle.

---

He didn't think about anything else.

Not fame.

Not recognition.

---

Just survival.

---

Years passed like that.

War became normal.

Danger became routine.

---

And then—

A new dungeon appeared.

---

Larger than anything before.

Darker.

Heavier.

---

Its name spread quickly.

---

Black Azure Dungeon

---

No one could clear it.

Not even high-ranked players.

---

It stood undefeated.

---

Until the Eight Stars decided to enter.

---

They didn't have a choice.

If they didn't—

No one else could.

---

The entrance felt wrong.

The moment they stepped inside, something shifted.

The air became heavy.

Breathing felt difficult.

---

Suho looked around.

Even the others looked tense.

---

"This place…" someone muttered. "It's different."

---

They moved carefully.

Step by step.

---

Until they reached the center.

---

And saw it.

---

A massive figure.

Covered in black scales.

Eyes glowing in the darkness.

---

The Black Ancient Dragon.

---

Its presence alone was overwhelming.

---

No one moved.

No one spoke.

---

Then—

It opened its eyes.

---

Everything changed.

---

The ground shook.

The air trembled.

---

They attacked.

All at once.

---

But it didn't matter.

---

Nothing worked.

---

Its power was beyond anything they had faced before.

---

"We can't win," someone said.

---

No one argued.

---

"Fall back!"

---

They ran.

---

For the first time—

The Eight Stars retreated.

---

The exit gate appeared ahead.

Close.

Within reach.

---

Then—

Something hit Suho.

---

A sharp pain.

His body was thrown forward.

---

He hit the ground hard.

---

He tried to move.

But couldn't.

---

"Wait…" he said weakly.

---

Footsteps approached.

---

Relief.

---

But when he looked up—

Something felt wrong.

---

Their expressions…

Were different.

---

Fear.

Hesitation.

---

"If we stay, we all die."

---

"…We have to go."

---

Suho's eyes widened.

---

Before he could react—

Hands pushed him.

---

He fell.

---

Into darkness.

---

The last thing he saw—

Was the gate closing.

---

And them—

Walking away.

---

Silence followed.

---

Then—

Nothing.

---

The world moved on.

---

The dungeon closed.

Declared cleared.

---

Only seven returned.

---

The news spread quickly.

---

"Humanity has survived."

"The Seven Stars have prevailed."

---

One name was missing.

---

The Sixth Star.

---

Gone.

---

Years passed.

---

Time changed everything.

---

A small house stood quietly in the city.

Preserved.

Untouched.

---

A museum.

---

People visited it.

Looked at old photos.

Read stories.

---

"Suho… The Sixth Star."

---

A hero.

A legend.

---

But the truth—

Was buried.

---

And somewhere deep in the darkness—

Something still remained.

---

Waiting.
