Chapter 1 - A Child Without Magic

He was born… in silence.

The midwife did not scream.

The mother did not smile.

Even the air in the room… seemed to stop for a moment.

"Where is the aura?"

That was the first question asked…

and the first judgment passed on him.

In this world, children are not born ordinary.

Every child carries a magical aura surrounding their body from the moment they are born… its color determining their future, their power, and their place in society.

But this child…

had nothing.

No light…

No color…

No trace.

As if he… did not exist.

The midwife stepped back, her hand trembling.

"My lady… this…"

But the mother did not wait for an explanation.

She looked at her child… for a long time…

then slowly closed her eyes, as if trying to deny what she saw.

"Take him away."

She said it… without hesitation.

"My lady?!"

"Take him out of here… I don't want to see him."

There was no anger in her voice.

No sadness.

Only… emptiness.

---

Years passed.

And the child… grew.

But the looks people gave him never changed.

"That's him, right?"

"The one without an aura?"

"How is he still alive?"

In the streets of the city, children practiced releasing tiny sparks from their hands, laughing… boasting.

But he…

stood far away.

Watching.

Trying.

Failing.

Every time.

He raised his hand once…

focused the way they taught him…

But…

nothing.

Not even the smallest spark appeared.

One of the children laughed.

"Maybe he needs a miracle!"

Another added mockingly:

"Or maybe… he needs to be born again!"

---

His name was…

Nir.

A name that meant nothing to them.

Just like him.

---

At the age of ten, he entered the Magic Academy.

Not because he was qualified…

but because the law forced everyone to attend.

The hall was enormous, filled with children, each surrounded by a different aura… colors dancing in the air like a living display of power.

Nir stood among them…

like an empty stain on a painting full of colors.

Whispers began to spread.

"It's him…"

"The void…"

"The mistake…"

---

"Silence!"

The teacher's voice thundered through the hall.

A tall man with sharp eyes and steady steps.

"Today… we will see your potential."

He smiled faintly.

"Each of you will summon your power."

Students began one by one.

Fire…

Water…

Wind…

Even the weakest among them… produced something.

Then…

it was his turn.

"Nir."

Silence.

He stepped forward.

One step.

Then another.

All eyes were on him.

Some curious…

but most…

filled with amusement and mockery.

"Begin."

The teacher said it coldly.

Nir closed his eyes.

He breathed slowly.

He remembered everything he had learned…

every time he tried…

every time he failed…

He raised his hand.

Waited.

Waited…

Nothing.

He slowly opened his eyes.

The hall… erupted in laughter.

"As expected!"

"Even the air rejects him!"

"Is he even human?!"

---

But the teacher… did not laugh.

He simply stared at him.

A look…

different.

"Strange…"

he muttered.

He stepped closer.

Placed his hand on Nir's chest.

Then…

his expression changed.

Only for a moment.

But it was enough.

"You…"

He stepped back.

"…have no magic."

Whispers.

Laughter.

Contempt.

---

Then he added…

in a low voice that only Nir could hear:

"Rather… you shouldn't have magic."

---

That night…

Nir was alone.

In a small, cold, empty room.

He sat on the floor, staring at his hands.

"Why…?"

A simple question.

But without an answer.

He closed his eyes.

Tried to sleep.

But…

something was wrong.

A strange feeling.

As if there was… a void inside him.

Not just the absence of magic…

but something deeper.

Darker.

---

Suddenly…

he heard a voice.

Not from outside.

But… from within.

> "…Finally."

Nir's eyes snapped open.

"Who's there?!"

No one.

Silence… returned.

But it wasn't the same silence.

---

The voice returned.

Clearer this time.

> "Void detected."

"Activation in progress…"

Nir's eyes widened.

His heart began pounding violently.

"What is this…?!"

---

> "Core of Nothingness…"

"Activated."

---

At that moment…

he felt something move inside his chest.

Not magic…

but…

something that devoured magic.

---

Somewhere…

far away from the academy…

an old man suddenly opened his eyes.

He smiled.

And said:

"So… it has finally begun."
