Chapter 30: Successfully Gathering Three Alien Princesses.
....
Hearing Zastin's words, Lala froze for a moment. As if realizing something, she turned her head to look at Momo and Nana, who were currently trying to tiptoe away.
"Don't tell me you two snuck out?"
"Big sister, you ran away halfway through your arranged date sequence, so why can't we?"
Even though she knew she was in the wrong, Nana still maintained a tough, "if you can do it, so can I" attitude. She did not expect Lala to actually look at her with an approving expression.
"You make a good point. But now I have found a fiancé, so that arranged date wasn't exactly a total failure. Anyway, Father only required me to find a boy I like."
Lala's casual attitude left Zastin utterly speechless. He had always doubted whether she truly liked Kihara, or if she even understood the meaning of the words "like" and "love."
However, the two had already performed the royal Deviluke proposal ritual. Even if there were no deep feelings right now, as long as they stayed together long enough, even the innocent Lala would understand sooner or later.
If Anna Yanami knew what Zastin was thinking, she would definitely point at herself with tears in her eyes and say: "Look at me! I've lived with Kihara for over ten years. Does that blockhead have even a single shred of desire to become my lover? Love growing over time only works if 'love' is used as an action verb!"
Shifting the focus back to the two sisters, who were trying to escape but found their path blocked by the men in black suits, Momo understood that if their big sister did not stop these people, she and Nana would truly be taken back to Planet Deviluke.
At this point, asking Lala directly for help was out of the question. Lala had no reason to help her two little sisters skip school.
'In that case, the only person who can break this current dilemma is Mr. Kihara.'
Without a second word, Momo hid behind Kihara. She pinched the edge of his shirt and pleaded in a sweet, soft voice, "Help me, brother-in-law!"
"You two skipped school to come here, right? I don't support that kind of behavior. So sorry, I won't step in to help you."
When her first trick failed, she immediately cooked up another one.
"Actually, we want to go to school here on Earth! Anyway, the palace only teaches things like galactic history and court etiquette, which are totally optional. Everything else requires us to study on our own. It's much better to come here and listen to a real teacher!"
Kihara knitted his brows in confusion. This was the first time he had heard that alien education used such a hands-off approach. He turned to Lala to double-check. "Is what Momo saying true?"
"Mmhmm. Father and Mother both want us to find the direction we like to develop, so most classes are left to us to study based on our own interests."
"Wait here for a moment." Leaving those words behind, Kihara walked up to the second floor. Not long after, he returned holding a math workbook and a pencil, which he handed to Momo. "If you can solve these problems, I will step in to help you stay on Earth."
"Really?" Momo blinked her sparkling eyes.
"I never lie."
"Master Kihara... you can't..." Zastin's face instantly twisted into a bitter look. If Kihara stepped in, his mission would definitely fail, and he might even get scolded when he returned to the flagship.
"Anyway, your planet's education is no different from raising sheep. If Momo can truly complete the problems I gave her, what's the harm in letting them stay on Earth? You wouldn't want me, their brother-in-law, to break my word, would you, Mr. Zastin?"
A faint, subtle trace of killing intent brushed lightly against Zastin's spine. He instantly broke out in a cold sweat and could only offer a forced smile as he replied, "I will report the situation to Lord Gid."
While working on the problems, Momo took a moment to look up at Zastin. She found his submissive attitude toward Kihara quite strange.
'The Captain of the Deviluke Royal Guard is incredibly strong. Why does he yield again and again to an ordinary Earthling?'
Nana did not think too much about it. She tossed a quick sentence to her twin, "Good luck, our staying on Earth depends entirely on you now!" She then walked over to Kihara's side and lightly patted his arm in praise. "Although you don't look like you have much muscle, you actually have quite a bit of manhood!"
Not just anyone could stand up with a straight face and look out for them in front of the fiercely famous Zastin. At least, not in her past experience.
Staying in the kitchen, Anna Yanami truly sweated for Kihara. After confirming that he would not be beaten to a pulp by Zastin in his skull armor, she finally let go of her sweaty palms, pulling out a handkerchief to wipe the cold sweat from her forehead.
"That idiot! Why does he speak so tough to someone who is clearly not to be messed with!"
Sanae looked at her with confusion. "Do you actually think Kihara would lose to this strange armor man?"
"Can he actually beat up an alien like that?!"
"Going by my intuition, yes."
Seeing how serious Sanae looked, Anna did not know for a moment whether she was making a joke to ease the tension or truly believed it. She bit her lip awkwardly and decided to keep watching the living room.
"Brother-in-law, I'm done!"
"Let me see... aside from a few specific errors, the rest are all correct..."
"Yes!" Momo happily high-fived Nana to celebrate. She then looked at Zastin with a winner's smile. "Now we can stay on Earth. It's about time for you to go back and report the situation to Father, right?"
"Sigh..." He let out a helpless sigh. "Fall back. We will report to Lord Gid. Before you leave, remember to use the restoration gun to fix the glass window."
"Yes, Master Zastin!"
After watching the defeated Royal Guard Captain leave, Momo walked over to Kihara's side with a bright smile and bowed to thank him. "Thank you for the help, brother-in-law!"
"It's a small matter. Since you plan to stay on Earth, you might as well live at my house... though the rooms here seem a bit tight."
"Leave that problem to me!!" Lala jumped in front of Kihara with boundless energy. Being able to live with her little sisters had her incredibly excited. "I have a 'Pop-Up Space-Kun' that can expand a pocket dimension in the attic to use as their bedroom!"
Kihara looked suspiciously at the wheel-like gadget in her hand. "Is there... any catch with this thing?"
"Absolutely~~~ no problem at all! I used the 'Pop-Up Space-Kun' to set up my own secret research lab back at the palace, and nothing bad ever happened!"
She guaranteed with absolute confidence, slapping her chest. Looking at the alluring, grand view shifting before his eyes, Kihara chose to trust her words.
Momo had some basic knowledge of this space-expansion technology and knew that the dimension would be much more stable if it had a physical anchor. Thus, she actively brought up the starship they had flown to Earth.
Lala combined the spaceship with her gadget, successfully expanding a massive, 500-square-meter pocket dimension in the third-floor attic. At the same time, she planned to move her own bedroom inside as well, saving her from waking Kihara up during her midnight sleepwalking episodes.
Just like that, the three alien princesses successfully settled into Kihara's home. Seeing this, Anna Yanami also secretly wanted to move in, but her thin skin kept her from voicing the thought out loud.
'Anyway, Lala's old room is empty now. As long as no one comes, I can move in whenever I want!'
However, she did not expect that a boozy Oni and a vampire with jewel-like wings would move in before long.
