Chapter 83: Get to Work, Bald Cape!

...

The moment he heard Kihara's words, Saitama's dull expression sharpened instantly.

His eyes turned serious.

He bent his knees and leapt.

BOOM!

The supposedly indestructible ceiling—built by Metal Knight—was shattered like paper.

Saitama shot straight out of the meeting room.

"Th-this is bad!!"

A terrified staff member burst in.

"An alien spaceship has completely destroyed A-City! Monsters are pouring out of it—they're slaughtering survivors!"

This time—

No one doubted Kihara.

The S-Class heroes rushed out all at once.

Outside – A-City.

What greeted them…

Was devastation.

The once-thriving city was gone.

Skyscrapers had collapsed into twisted steel skeletons clawing at the sky. The ground was covered in shattered concrete and debris.

Above them—

A colossal alien warship loomed.

From its underbelly, monsters poured out endlessly—like dumplings spilling from a pot.

"Immediately deploy A-Class and below for civilian rescue!" shouted Child Emperor.

"Call in reinforcements from other cities to deal with the alien forces!"

But before he could finish assigning roles.

Half the S-Class heroes were already gone.

Excuses.

Retreats.

Avoidance.

Only a handful remained:

Bang, Atomic Samurai, Metal Bat, Puri-Puri, Prisoner, Genos, Kihara and Tatsumaki.

"I knew some of them couldn't be relied on," Child Emperor muttered bitterly.

Kihara casually patted Tatsumaki's slender waist.

"Looks like we'll need your help this time."

"Then I want a reward later," she said without hesitation.

"Deal."

The moment she got his answer.

A faint green glow surrounded her.

Countless aliens still mid-air.

Suddenly froze.

Then—

Crushed.

An invisible force gathered them into a grotesque mass.

And squeezed.

SPLAT!

Limbs and green blood rained down like a storm.

Genos stepped forward, flames erupting from his arms.

"Mr. Kihara, since Miss Tatsumaki is handling the sky, I'll eliminate ground targets."

"Go ahead."

"Yes!"

The other S-Class heroes had already moved.

At the base of the spaceship—

They encountered something terrifying.

A monster with five heads.

Black wings.

Limbs that could morph into weapons.

And worst of all—

Near-immortality.

No matter how much damage it took.

It regenerated instantly.

Sensing powerful enemies approaching, the creature split itself.

Into five separate bodies.

"Melzargard… new opponents."

"I'll kill them all."

"Do not be careless."

"Protecting the ship is priority."

"…Agreed."

The five voices overlapped as they attacked.

Bladed limbs shot toward the heroes' necks—each strike meant to kill.

Meanwhile—

Child Emperor stayed behind near Kihara, the safest place on the battlefield.

He frowned.

"You're not going to help?"

Kihara shrugged.

"Tatsumaki and Genos handle the fodder. Saitama's inside the ship. Bang and the others have the elite down there."

He leaned back lazily.

"So why wouldn't I stay with my girlfriend?"

"…You are an S-Class hero," Child Emperor said helplessly.

Kihara scoffed.

"At least I didn't run."

"…Fair enough."

Child Emperor sighed and opened his laptop, issuing emergency commands to the Association.

The tide slowly turned.

At first, the sudden attack caused chaos.

But with S-Class and A-Class heroes fighting back, and B-Class focusing on rescue.

Stability began to return.

Then—

Suddenly—

A terrifying surge of energy erupted from the spaceship.

Everyone on the ground froze.

And just as quickly—

It vanished.

Melzargard's movements halted.

All five heads looked up.

"Not good!"

"Lord Boros' energy…"

"The ship is compromised!"

"Retreat immediately!"

"…Agreed."

It abandoned the fight—

Attempting to recombine and return to the ship.

But—

Bang had already seen through its secret.

A core.

Hidden within its body.

The source of its immortality.

As Melzargard tried to retreat.

Bang struck.

Flowing Water, Crushing Rock Fist.

His hand pierced through its body.

Grabbing the core—

Crushing it instantly.

"…Tough opponent," Bang exhaled.

Above them—

The massive spaceship began to sway.

Like it was drunk.

Then—

It started falling.

"Move!!"

The heroes scattered as it descended.

Aftermath

Kihara, meanwhile—

Was staring at something else entirely.

His system.

The experience bar surged upward.

Stopping just shy of full.

"…So close."

He frowned.

"Boros gave a lot of EXP… but I'm still missing a bit."

Then—

A thought appeared.

Monster Association.

Hidden beneath Z-City.

He turned to Tatsumaki.

"Put the ship down gently."

She did so with ease.

At the same time—

Saitama casually kicked open the ship's wall and stepped out.

Kihara grinned.

"Enjoy the fight?"

"Yeah. Not bad."

"Good. Come with me to Z-City."

"There's a monster nest I want you to clear."

"…Monster nest? That's a thing?"

Kihara didn't bother explaining.

Instead—

He had Tatsumaki lift them all into the air:

Himself, Yume, Saitama And Child Emperor, who was still recording everything.

"About 1500 meters underground," Kihara said. "Can you find it?"

"No problem."

Tatsumaki closed her eyes—

Her psychic power diving deep into the earth.

Moments later—

She found it.

Without hesitation—

She ripped it out.

A massive underground base—

Dragged straight to the surface.

By sheer coincidence—

It appeared directly beneath Saitama's apartment building.

Which was instantly destroyed.

"…Ah."

Saitama froze.

Then—

"MY HOOOOOUSE!!!"

Before Kihara could say anything.

Saitama vanished.

A blur.

He reappeared above the Monster Association base.

Rage overflowing.

"YOU'RE PAYING FOR MY NEW HOUSE!!!"

He threw a punch.

SERIOUS PUNCH.

BOOOOOOM!!!

The entire planet trembled.

And in Kihara's mind—

A beautiful notification rang out.

[Combat Skill Level Up → Level 8]

[Physical Attributes Increased]

[Swordsmanship → Master Level]

Two levels at once.

"…Now that's what I call satisfying."

Then—

Another message appeared.

[A long-dormant power within you is about to awaken…]
