Of course, she understood the necessity of having monsters as antagonists. After all, stories needed conflict—heroes and villains clashing to drive the plot forward.
But deep down, she believed:
Monsters don't have to be villains.
They could be heroes too.
With that thought in mind, she turned to Kihara and asked:
"Kihara … do you think monsters are important in tokusatsu?"
He paused for a moment, thinking–then answered firmly:
"Important."

Akane mentally played her own little sound effect, her smile growing brighter.
"And why do you think so?"
"I haven't watched that many tokusatsu shows… can I explain using magical girl anime instead?"
"Sure~"
Kihara cleared his throat and began:
"At the core of magical girl stories, monsters appear and threaten the city or even the world. That's what leads to girls with talent and hearts full of love and hope becoming magical girls to defeat them and save everything.
If monsters didn't exist, then magical girls wouldn't have a reason to exist either.
On the other hand, if only magical girls existed but no monsters to oppose them, then they'd probably end up being treated as weapons of war.
And in that case… could they still be called 'magical girls'? Or would they just be killers, soldiers… human weapons?
The same applies to tokusatsu.
If there were no monsters, the story would just become humans fighting humans.
That kind of story isn't bad—but it lacks the intensity of a hero risking everything to drive back an overwhelming enemy.

Akane almost couldn't hold back her excitement.
She grabbed both of Kihara 's hands and shook them energetically.
Every word he said struck right at the heart of her love for monsters.

She made her decision.
He's the protagonist.
The hero of this world.

She would go home, use the Orphnoch data she had analyzed from his belt, and create new monsters to begin the story.

With Alexis' help, she brought it to life—
and placed it in ambush near a specific alley.

She had already chosen.

The girl who had already crossed paths with Kihara .
Alexis appeared on a secondary screen.
"The protagonist, the heroine, and the monster… what kind of story are you planning, Akane?"
"Just watch," she said confidently. "I guarantee it'll be good!"
"I look forward to it. Though… this monster design seems different from your usual style. Something change?"
"Hehe~ I got some new inspiration. From now on, unless the plot requires it, I won't make giant monsters anymore!"
