Everyone walked out of the Kuonji Mansion and, led by Alice Kuonji, came to a clearing on the mountain.
Alice Kuonji took out her Mystic Code and said to Rin and Sakura,
"You may begin your demonstration."
Rin had thought it would just be a simple demonstration of Pseudo-Fairy Tale Sorcery, but she hadn't expected Alice to seemingly intend to have a magic duel with her and Sakura.
Rin turned to look at Sakura. Seeing Sakura ready and showing a determined gaze, Rin nodded to her, held Sakura's hand, and said to Alice Kuonji,
"Miss Kuonji, please be careful."
Rin and Sakura together raised their joined hands. The magical energy of both parties began to form a cycle, and the spell Formula began to activate. Using Sakura's Imaginary Number magic as the base and filling it with Rin's Five Great Elements, the sisters fully activated the sorcery 'The Man-Eating Crone of the Chicken-Legged Hut' for the first time.
A thick and mysterious mist quickly enveloped the entire mountain along with Rin and Sakura's magical energy. A huge Chicken-Legged Hut appeared behind Rin and Sakura. The hut opened, and an old crone emitting a strange laughter appeared.
Alice Kuonji calmly looked at the two little girls faintly visible in the thick mist. At this moment, Alice Kuonji was completely certain that this was indeed some kind of brand-new Fairy Tale Sorcery.
Listening to the eerie laughter in the thick fog, Alice Kuonji casually tossed a die. As it landed on a 3, two bizarrely shaped penguins appeared before her—the 'Chattering Twins.'
As soon as the two penguins appeared, they quickly charged into the thick fog and disappeared, with only the faint sounds of battle drifting back.
Touko watched the surrounding thick fog with boredom. She took out a cigarette and had just lit it when Aoko, who was standing nearby, snatched it away and threw it on the ground.
"No smoking."
Touko gave Aoko a complaining roll of her eyes.
"Are you picking a fight? You want to go?"
"Heh, do you want to be turned into a frog again?"
Just as the two sisters were rolling up their sleeves and preparing to tear into each other, the thick fog suddenly dispersed. Once their vision returned, the sisters looked at the approaching Alice and simultaneously turned their heads away with a cold snort. "Hmph!" x2
"Alice, how is it?"
Alice Kuonji looked at the inquiring Aoko and nodded.
"That's right, it's Fairy Tale Magic. It seems to be derived from Russian folklore."
"So Alice, do you plan to take Sakura in?"
Alice looked at the expectant eyes of the Tohsaka sisters and nodded.
Rin happily hugged Sakura, lifting her up and shouting joyfully.
"Sakura, Sakura, did you hear? You'll be able to walk your own path from now on! Are you happy, Sakura?"
Sakura nodded happily. Although she had been exposed to magecraft very early on, the magecraft passed down by the Tohsaka Family was truly unsuitable for her Imaginary Numbers attribute. Having only been able to learn basic magecraft for a long time, it wasn't until Rin exchanged 'The Cannibalistic Hag of the Chicken-Legged Hut' from the system and taught it to her that Sakura officially stepped through the door of magecraft.
However, Rin's version of this Fairy Tale Magic was a magecraft from A Certain Magical Index World exchanged from the system. Lacking relevant data on Fairy Tale Magic, no matter how Rin improved or researched it, she couldn't make this magecraft display its original power within Type-Moon. Seeing Sakura's path of magecraft stagnate again, and after many failed research attempts, Rin could only select a teacher for Sakura from her own memories. It wasn't until recently, when the timing was ripe, that she decided to bring Sakura to Alice Kuonji to request apprenticeship.
Touko watched the Tohsaka sisters playing happily, glanced at Aoko with a nostalgic expression, and then silently turned to walk toward the Kuonji Residence.
Aoko felt Touko's gaze and turned her head, but only saw Touko's receding back. She shrugged strangely.
Night at the Kuonji Residence.
After letting Kirei Kotomine go down the mountain to find his own accommodation, Rin came to Alice Kuonji's side alone.
"Sister Alice, can I call you that?"
Alice, who was sitting on the sofa reading a book, turned to look at Rin and nodded.
"Sister Alice, can I exchange my magecraft for some magecraft materials regarding 'Mystery'?"
Alice put down her book, looked at Rin, and said coldly,
"No need. The basement bookshelves, row 5A, are all related materials. You can go see for yourself."
After saying that, Alice picked up her book and ignored Rin.
Rin smiled and bowed to Alice.
"Thank you, Sister Alice."
When Rin arrived in the basement, she saw Sakura sitting at a desk, seriously studying a thick book. Nearby on the floor, Touko was lying down without any regard for her image, using a stack of books as a pillow while flipping through the book in her hand.
Rin didn't disturb the serious Sakura. She silently walked to the bookshelf and, following Alice's tip, quickly found the books she needed. She casually took one out, sat down next to Touko, and then rested her head on Touko's soft thighs.
"Hey, little girl, what are you doing?"
"There are no more seats."
"Who asked if there were seats? I'm asking why you're leaning on my thighs?"
"Conserving resources, not wasting anything."
Hearing Rin's answer, Touko rolled her eyes at her and simply couldn't be bothered to care, letting Rin do as she pleased.
Sakura, immersed in her book, heard her sister's voice and slowly raised her head, just in time to see Rin acting shamelessly.
Seeing Rin like this, Sakura carefully covered her mouth and giggled. Rin heard Sakura's laughter, looked up at her, and said hurriedly,
"Ah, Sakura, what's wrong? Did Sister disturb you?"
Sakura shook her head and, looking at Rin resting on Touko's thighs, said,
"No, Sister. It's just that since we left home, I haven't seen you act like this. Seeing it again today makes me a bit happy."
Rin smiled. 'Indeed, I've been a bit tense lately, but it's great that Sakura's future path of magecraft can be smooth.' Thinking this, Rin reached out and patted Touko's thigh, which she was resting on, and said to Sakura,
"Sakura, it's very soft. Do you want to try?"
Touko put down her book and sat up, angrily grabbing Rin's cheeks and pulling them to the sides.
"Little girl, I only agreed to be your bodyguard, not your nanny. Do you know when to stop?"
"Wuu wuu wuu, wuu wuu wuu."
With her cheeks being pulled, Rin couldn't speak for a moment. She had to use Reinforcement Magic to pull Touko's hands away.
"Just a joke, but it really is very comfortable," Rin said while rubbing her reddened cheeks.
Touko looked at this little witch who had revealed her true nature, shook her head, stood up to tidy the books back onto the shelf, and said to Rin,
"Little girl, you and your sister take your time reading. Sigh! I'm going out for a walk."
Rin and Sakura watched Touko leave the basement in frustration, looked at each other, and then burst into laughter together.
Sakura stopped laughing and watched her sister, who was still laughing, whispering to herself,
"Sister hasn't been this happy for days. Sorry, Sister, for making you worry about me all the time. Now that I can also master my own power, I definitely won't let you be alone again. Sister, I... I love you the most!"
Saying this, Sakura came to Rin's side and buried her head in Rin's embrace.
