Chapter 111 - Chapter 111: Gunshot

"I am Anna Marie.... Or Rogue," Rogue said as she extended her hand to shake it, which was covered by a black glove.

"Nice to meet you, Rogue. I am the incredible, amazing, and sexy Jason Todd, the one who drives the ladies crazy."

"Eh?"

"I am Jason Todd," he said, shaking her hand and giving a big smile showing his magnificent white teeth.

"Nice to meet you. What are you doing here? I highly doubt it was to kiss Jean and mess with the Drama Queen."

"What, who is Jean?" he asked, puzzled.

"Oh. She is the girl you just kissed. Jean Grey. She is dating the arrogant number one guy in school, Scott Summers," she said the last name with such disgust that he was not surprised.

'Now what stupid thing did you do, Summers, to make Rogue hate you so much? Wait a second, that girl was Jean, and she does not look anything like the ones in the films!'

"Putting all that aside, are you new to the school, Sugah? I have never seen you before," she asked curiously while looking him up and down.

"No, I am not a student. I am a messenger or something like that. I am looking for someone."

"Messenger? Who are you looking for?"

"Logan or James."

"Oh! The Badger! Wait, you are the person Professor Xavier sent me to find! By the way, Logan is with him. I saw him when I went to his office."

"Are you looking for me?"

'Now what does that mind-rapist want?'

"Could you take me there, please, darling?"

"Of course. After all, it was my assignment. Follow me." She said this as she turned to walk away, but stopped because someone appeared in front of her.

"Kurt! God! You almost scared me to death."

"I am sorry, but I came to ask if you would lend me a couple of books," he said while talking to her, then looked at him. "And who is he?"

"Yes, you can take my book. And he is a messenger who came for Logan."

"Hi. I am Jason Todd. I am here to deliver a package to the grumpy badger," he said, speaking to Kurt in German, which surprised both Rogue and Kurt. (Note: This exchange was conducted in German.)

"I am Kurt Wagner. How did you know I speak German?" he asked, intrigued. (German)

"Your accent gave you away. And by the way, I speak German and it is not the only language I speak," he replied. (German)

For a while Kurt and Jason were talking, in German, sometimes telling jokes and making each other laugh, other times sharing anecdotes.

Looking out of the corner of his eye, he saw Rogue make a confused face and frown, not understanding what they were talking about. More than once, she saw Kurt laughing and Jason joining in.

Once they finished talking, both Kurt and Jason shook hands, and then Kurt disappeared.

"So, will you show me the way?" he said as he looked at Rogue.

"What were you talking about with Kurt?"

"Hehe. He was telling me about the pranks he pulled in high school."

"If his jokes are always incredibly funny, they are also incredibly annoying."

As they walked, Rogue and Jason had a pleasant conversation.

On some occasions, he would throw out a compliment or two and flirt, which she would gladly reciprocate.

Sometimes he would increase the pace of the flirting and make her blush, and it was incredibly adorable to see.

Although more than once she returned it to him with the same level, making him give a big smile accompanied by a slight laugh.

Once they were in front of a door, the laughter stopped and Rogue knocked twice.

They heard a "Come in." Upon entering, the first thing he saw was that there were many people inside the room.

"I brought him here, Professor. I will be going now."

Just as she was about to turn around to close the door and leave, the bald man interrupted her.

"You do not need to leave, Rogue. After Scott and Jean, you are the most qualified person to be here. You can stay." Rogue nodded, closing the door and standing next to Jason, a little further away.

Once they finished talking, Jason was about to speak and introduce himself, but he was greeted with a strange sensation of something hitting the front of his head.

Looking ahead, he saw that it was Xavier trying to enter his mind, along with Jean.

Moving faster than those present in the room, he took out his weapon hidden in his jacket and pointed it at Xavier, then fired.

Click.

Bang.

Once he fired the gun, the bullet, instead of hitting Charles in the face, grazed his cheek.

Everyone present froze, including Charles, who, unable to read his mind, could not anticipate his movement and stop the bullet mid-air. The same had happened with Jean.

"Next time you try to violate my mind without consent, I promise I will not fail," he said while unconsciously doing something that everyone near him soon noticed: he unleashed a killer instinct. It was so intense that everyone present except two was paralyzed.

Logan was one of them, unaffected as he was used to it.

The other was Jean, who had heterochromia, one green eye and one gold eye. Instead of being afraid, her face was slightly flushed and she was discreetly rubbing her thighs.

Then her eyes turned green again.

Changing his attitude to a calmer one, he walked toward Logan, still pointing the gun at Charles. Once close enough, he put the gun away, rolled up his sleeves to his elbows, and shook Logan's hand.

Without him noticing, Jean's blush deepened slightly, which was noticed by a boy next to her wearing sunglasses.

He frowned and then looked at Jason with annoyance. Another person who noticed was Rogue herself, who also showed a faint blush.

When they separated, he put his sleeve back as before.

"I thought you would come another day, not the day after I called you, bub," Logan said while taking a drag on his cigar. "So that is what you look like under that fabric, huh?"

"Not entirely. I had some free time and I doubt I can come another day. I will be extremely busy," he replied indifferently while putting his hands in his jacket pockets. Logan did not ask about his appearance again.

"Grr. Okay. Where is the package?"

"Cough, cough. Who is your friend, Logan?"
