Once upon a time , a poor woodcutter lived in a small village . Every day he went to the forest to cut wood and sell it to earn money .
One day , while cutting a tree near a river , his iron axe slipped from his hand fell into the river .
The woodcutter became very sad and started crying.
Suddenly , the river Goddess appeared and asked " why are crying ?"
The woodcutter told her the truth that his axe had fallen into the river .
The goddess went into the river and came back with a golden axe . she asked , " Is this your axe ?"
The woodcutter said
" No , this is not mine " .
Finally ,The goddess brought an iron axe . The woodcutter happily said ,
" yes ! That is my axe . "
The goddess was very happy with his honesty' so she gave him all three axes as a reward .
