Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: So This Really Is One Piece

Today marked Kurogane Ren's seventh day of signing in.

According to the system, signing in for seven consecutive days came with an extra lottery draw.

That was exactly why he was so impatient today.

The moment he finished signing in and saw his available draws increase to two, a wide grin spread across his face.

Even though his experience over the past few days had already proven that single draws rarely produced miracles, an extra draw was still an extra draw.

"Lottery!"

Ren shouted excitedly.

These past few days, he had developed a ritual to protect his luck. Before every draw, he would go wash his hands first. Even though drawing didn't actually require his hands, a sense of ceremony was still important.

"Congratulations, Host. You have obtained a transcendent item: one collapsible small sailboat."

Ren stared blankly at the sailboat model that had appeared in his hand.

Because the little thing was barely bigger than his palm.

At first, hearing that he had drawn a sailboat had made him ecstatic.

But when he looked at the tiny toy-sized boat that couldn't even fit a rat, his mentality cracked on the spot.

"System! Get out here!"

"Yes, Host?" the system replied.

Ren pointed at the little sailboat in his hand and demanded, "What the hell is this?"

The system answered in an exaggerated tone, "Wow, Host actually drew a transcendent item! What amazing luck!"

Looking at the system's over-the-top expression, Ren had the strong feeling it was doing this on purpose just to mess with him.

Still, he caught an important word.

Transcendent item.

This was the second time he had seen that term. The first had been during the beginner's ten-draw, when he got those indestructible flip-flops.

At this very moment, that pair of flip-flops was still on his feet.

So Ren asked, "System, what exactly does transcendent item mean?"

The system blinked. "Huh? I never explained that to you?"

Ren stared at it. "No. When the hell did you ever explain it?"

"Oh, I see. Then let me explain now."

"The lottery rewards are divided into different levels based on value. First are ordinary items, such as food with no special effects, drinking water, clothes, and other common supplies."

"Next are transcendent items. These are objects that go beyond normal understanding. For example, the sailboat you just drew has a special function. It can grow and shrink. At its largest, it can become a sailboat five meters long. At its smallest, it can shrink down to palm size."

"Above transcendent items are mythical items. These objects have all kinds of strange and extraordinary abilities, but every single one of them would be priceless in any world. Countless people would fight until their brains spilled out for them. For example, an immortal pill that grants eternal life. Or a stone capable of completely destroying an entire world."

After hearing the explanation, Ren stared dumbly at the sailboat in his hand.

Sure, mythical items sounded even more ridiculous, but just hearing those effects told him the odds of pulling one were probably lower than winning the jackpot.

Transcendent items, on the other hand, were different.

He hadn't even drawn twenty times yet, and he had already pulled two of them.

That probability wasn't low at all.

And he truly hadn't expected this toy-like little boat to expand into a real five-meter sailboat.

The moment that thought hit him, Ren's entire body trembled with excitement.

Because if he had a boat, that meant he could finally leave this godforsaken island.

Then he quickly asked, "System, how do I use this sailboat?"

"All transcendent items come with instructions. Please inspect the item's built-in description yourself."

"Instructions?"

Ren flipped the sailboat over and looked at it carefully.

Where?

"System, are you screwing with me?"

"If you're stupid, don't blame me."

Ren's eyes widened. "The hell? You've got some nerve for a system. You dare call me stupid?"

The system replied coldly, "Believe it or not, I can make you draw disgusting bread every single day for a whole month."

The second those words came out, Ren instantly put on a bright smile.

"I was wrong just now. You weren't messing with me. I just didn't look carefully enough."

It definitely wasn't because of the system's threat.

It was just that the disgusting bread was too disgusting.

Yes.

That was all.

After that, Ren carefully inspected the little sailboat again. In the end, he finally discovered a line of tiny text on the bottom.

The only problem was that the writing was so absurdly small that it was impossible to read with the naked eye.

Ren squinted at it for a long time and still couldn't make out what it said.

Since he couldn't figure out how to use the sailboat for the moment, he decided to use his remaining draw first.

"System, lottery!"

"Congratulations, Host. You have obtained one German-made C96 pistol, with one hundred rounds of ammunition included."

"What?! A miracle from a single draw?!"

Ren stared at the pistol that had appeared in his hand, his eyes going wide.

He was far too familiar with this gun.

Maybe not everyone recognized the name C96, but its nickname was famous everywhere.

The Mauser.

As a military enthusiast, Ren had never handled a real handgun before, but that didn't stop him from learning plenty about it online.

What he had drawn was the ten-round version of the C96.

For someone touching a real pistol for the first time in his life, Ren was so happy he looked like a two-hundred-month-old child.

He couldn't put it down.

He kept holding it, waving it around, aiming at one rock, then another.

Sometimes a man's happiness really was that simple.

And just as Ren was happily playing with the Mauser, he suddenly heard a strange sound behind him.

It sounded like something massive breaking through the water.

He turned sharply and looked toward the sea behind him.

In the distance, a gigantic red fish burst out of the ocean.

How big was it?

Ren estimated that fish was at least thirty meters long.

On Earth, the largest known creature was the blue whale, and even that only reached around thirty meters at most.

But now, a random fish leaping from the sea had already exceeded that size.

Just as Ren was still reeling from the sheer scale of that fish, a huge head suddenly rose from the ocean.

It looked like the head of a giraffe.

And in a single bite, it swallowed the giant fish whole.

Ren's mind went completely blank.

The massive head didn't linger after devouring its prey.

A moment later, it sank back beneath the sea.

Boom!

Its enormous bulk crashed into the ocean, sending waves rolling outward.

Ren stared at the rippling surface.

His legs felt as if they had been filled with lead, utterly drained of strength.

What the hell was that just now?

A thirty-meter fish had been swallowed in one bite, without even being chewed.

What kind of monster was that?

That thing was more terrifying than Godzilla.

Just moments ago, Ren had been thrilled about getting the Mauser.

But compared to that monster, the pistol in his hand probably wouldn't even count as scratching an itch.

"Mom... I want to go home..."

After the sea gradually calmed down, Ren forced himself to start analyzing what that creature had been.

Based on what he knew so far, he was stranded in an ocean that hadn't seen a single gust of wind in an entire week.

And just now, a monster had appeared whose head alone looked well over a hundred meters long.

More importantly, that monster had a giraffe-like neck and head...

...yet it lived in the sea.

All of that pointed Ren toward one world.

One Piece.

If the lack of wind alone hadn't been enough for him to confirm it before, then the monster he had just seen was more than enough proof.

This really was the world of One Piece.

Because among all the worlds he knew, there weren't many with creatures that distinctive.

Truthfully, Ren had always liked One Piece.

After all, the female characters were... broad-minded.

But liking it and living in it were two completely different things.

The One Piece world was packed with monsters.

The three Navy Admirals, who could alter the environment itself.

Whitebeard, who could create world-shaking disasters and earthquakes.

Big Mom, who could rip away a person's lifespan.

Kaido, a freak with inhuman durability who could transform into a dragon.

And Red-Haired Shanks, the man whose "face" everyone had to give.

Just thinking about those monsters made Ren feel like his current body wouldn't even survive a single breath from them.

And more importantly...

This world also had one group of absolute human trash that everyone hated—

the Celestial Dragons.

And the worst part was that those bastards held terrifying power.
