The school wasn't just alive—it was hunting. Hallways twisted violently, floors tilted like waves, and ceilings lowered with crushing force. Shadows surged in overwhelming numbers.
Sarah held the cube tightly. "Positions! This is no longer a test—the faceless creature is attacking directly!"
Jonah's glow flared, Mira's light amplified him. "Energy flows are erratic… it's trying to isolate us!"
Lara spun dramatically in her chair. "Step one: chaos heroics! Step two: comedic survival! Step three: snacks… who cares?!"
Tyler zoomed through corridors on his hoverboard, zapping rogue shadows. Jade analyzed energy flows frantically. Leo gritted his teeth, swinging ropes to block the worst of it.
Suddenly, a massive shadow surged through the west corridor. Emily screamed as the shadow grabbed her, pulling her into the darkness.
Sarah lunged, trying to reach her. "Emily!"
But the shadow vanished, leaving nothing but a cold silence.
Sarah POV: No… not Emily. She was too brilliant, too brave… and gone. I can't lose her. But the battle isn't over. Focus. Keep surviving.
Lara flailed wildly. "Step four: comedic panic! Step five: heroic panic! Step six: snacks… maybe never!"
The faceless creature's roar echoed, shaking the gym.
Leo yelled, "We can't let it split us! Keep positions!"
Another surge—this time, Tyler tried to block a collapsing corridor with his gadgets—but the floor gave way. He fell into a pit with shadows converging around him.
Sarah screamed, "Tyler!"
Jonah gritted his teeth. "We… we can't save everyone!"
Mira's glow dimmed slightly. "We need to survive to finish this fight. We'll honor them by finishing what they started."
The team redirected shadows into traps, but the loss hit hard. Emily and Tyler were gone.
Lara spun dramatically, yelling, "Step seven: heroic mourning! Step eight: comedic despair! Step nine: snacks… optional, obviously!"
Felix muttered, "Step ten: sanity… officially dead along with them."
