Chapter 1 - I woke up as the Villain

I restlessly scrolled at the last chapter of the Romance Novel "Blades of Destiny," moving here and there on my bed as I waited for the long-awaited climax. As I flipped the last page, the novel ended like any other: the protagonist defeating the Villain and getting the girl.

I groaned, "That's it? Such a cliché ending." I put my phone down on the cupboard next to my bed and pulled the string of the lamp. Darkness covered my room as I stirred into the deep embrace of sleep.

The next day, the morning light of the sun flickered on my face. I slowly woke up; the mattress felt softer than normal. I looked to my side and saw a mirror. My face wasn't there—it was the face of Gray Ashcroft, a minor villain in "Blades of Destiny."

I rubbed my eyes, but the same visage of Gray remained in the mirror. "This must be a dream. Right? There's no way I transmigrated into a novel," I thought to myself. I remembered the fate of Gray: he gets completely humiliated by the Protagonist, Leon Birch, becomes a cripple, and later dies brutally to the main villain.

"I must avoid that fate no matter what. I shall not die." I said to myself my voice slightly panicking

I heard a ding in my head and a Blue Screen appeared in front of me:

[Host Soul Binding Complete. Welcome to the Malevolence Engine. Your destiny is to be a stepping stone. Do you wish to rewrite this fate through malice?]

"Yes, I accept. If it means survival, a thousand times yes."

Another ding sounded: [System initiated. Welcome User.]

"System, what are these things called Villain Points?"

[Villain points can be used in the shop to unlock items and skills. To earn VP, you need to do acts of villainy. You currently have 10 VP.]

"Open Shop."

[Opening shop. Items in stock]

"Hmmm, Eye of the Appraiser. I will buy that."

[Purchase made. 10 VP used. Current VP balance: 0 VP. Do you wish to use the skill card "Eye of the Appraiser"?]

"Yes."

My eyes started to glow a golden color. My eyesight seemed to have improved I could see the individual grains of the wood in this very opulent room and I could see through walls too. This was truly amazing. Through the walls, I saw a maid coming toward my room. She knocked on the door.

"May I come in, my lord?"

"Enter," I said, my voice sounding deeper, colder than my own.

A young maid stepped inside, her head bowed so low I could only see the crown of her hair. She was shivering, despite the morning warmth. I focused my new sight on her.

[Target: Loren Stark]

Health Anomalies: Partially healed lacerations (whip wounds) on back.

"Have you slept well, Young Master?"

"Well enough," I replied, my eyes lingering on the data floating above her. The original Gray Ashcroft was clearly a monster.

"It's time for you to depart to the academy the carriage has been prepared for you have prepared it for you" She said softly her voice held a hint of fear "I have...I have prepared everything as you requested"

"Bring me my uniform" "I said keeping my tone monotonous

"I shall bring it Posthaste Lord" She quickly removed herself from the room

I slowly remove myself from the bed going to the mirror and using the "Eye of the Appraiser" on myself

[Target: Gray Ashcroft]

Status: Impassive

Abilities:"Eyes of the Appraiser"

Traits: Cruel, Talentless in Swordsmanship, Magic Talent:S rank

Health:Fine

Didn't Gray use a sword in "Blades of Destiny" why would he use a sword when he's utterly talentless at it I go deep in thought he would be a great Mage wouldn't he if he just practiced Magic he would've avoided that cruel fate"Well I am not as Stupid as the original gray"I get startled by the knock of the maid on the door "May I come in master I have brought you're uniform"

"Leave it on the bed and remove yourself from my room at once"

"As your wish lord" She quickly put the uniform on the bed and left the room

I put on the uniform "hmm atleast it's good looking. I guess" In "Blades of Destiny" at the first day of the academy Gray and Leon duel and Gray gets utterly humiliated in the duel his mana core getting shattered making him unable to use swords thinking to myself as I walk down the stairs of the Mansion at the entrance stood a Carriage that can be called a Palace on wheels I enter it The journey was 5 days long to the Academy the driver of the carriage said.
