When Tiana got into Tara's house, she found Tara sleeping on the couch in the sitting room. An empty bowl sat on the table, and the TV was still on.
Tiana looked at the sleeping Tara with a soft gaze and a smile. Shaking her head in amusement, she made herself comfortable before sitting beside her best friend and gently trying to wake her up.
"Hey, sleepy girl, wake up," Tiana said dotingly.
Tara stirred, her eyes fluttering open.
"Oh, you're here," Tara said in a sleepy tone.
Tiana smiled at her best friend. "You look so sleepy. It's not like you to be this tired. Are you sure you're okay?"
Tara snapped her head toward Tiana, and her hand instinctively touched her stomach.
Tiana noticed the action. She really wanted to ask about it, but she knew better than to pry into her best friend's life if she was unwilling to talk about it. So she simply smiled and changed the topic.
"Kalon and Anika will come and pick us up, I think," Tiana said as she stood up.
