Cain kept looking at Tara's back in shock, completely lost in thought about the mark on her skin. A few minutes later, Tara was done. She flapped the skirt lightly to dry it before putting it back on. The moment she turned around, she caught Cain staring intensely at her alluring figure. She raised an eyebrow in confusion and said, "Aren't you done looking yet?"
Those words alone were enough to snap him back to reality.
After noticing that he had returned to his senses, Tara said nothing else. She simply walked away, leaving him standing there frozen.
How can she be her? How? Cain thought in disbelief. She was warm, nice, loving… I could feel it. But this Tara… she's cold, calculating, and distant. What's going on? How can she be the same person? Where did it all go wrong?
Confusion clouded his mind. The person he had desperately searched for a few days ago had apparently been right in front of him the entire time, yet he had never realized it.
