Theresa.
The heavy door had barely clicked shut behind the triplets when a team of two doctors and a nurse bustled into the quiet hospital room. They moved quickly around my bed, adjusting IV lines, wrapping a blood pressure cuff around my arm, and checking my vital signs with serious, focused faces.
"Your heart rate is still elevated, Theresa," the lead doctor noted, writing something down on his clipboard. "Your body has been through an immense amount of trauma, and the stress you're putting on yourself right now is dangerous for both you and your recovery."
"I'm fine," I muttered softly, leaning my head back against the crisp white pillows.
"You need total rest," the doctor insisted firmly, checking the monitor one last time before stepping back. "No more intense visits, no more heavy emotional conversations today." He paused, examining my face. "We need you to sleep."
