Tokyo Jujutsu High was louder than usual.
Much louder.
People were everywhere.
Takeru walked through the entrance with Yuji and the others.
And waiting for them were nearly everyone else.
Both Naoyas.
Both Ryus.
Both Uros.
Maki.
Both Sukunas.
Hakari.
Both Kiraras.
Aika.
Akari.
Raiden.
And everyone else who had made it out of the colonies.
Takeru stopped.
He looked around.
"…Everyone's actually here."
One of the Ryus crossed his arms.
"Of course."
One of the Uros glanced at her counterpart.
"This is going to get confusing."
The two Naoyas looked at each other.
"…Agreed."
Takeru laughed.
"Don't worry."
He gestured toward the crowd.
"We'll figure it out."
Everyone began talking at once.
Some were comparing what happened in their colonies.
Others were simply happy to see everyone alive.
Takeru stood quietly for a moment.
Then his expression changed.
"…Actually."
Yuji looked over.
"What?"
Takeru looked around the school.
"I don't know what happens next."
The group went quiet.
Takeru rubbed the back of his neck.
"This is where my timeline ended."
Megumi frowned.
"You mean…"
"Yeah."
Takeru nodded.
"Everything after this?"
He shrugged.
"I don't know."
For once, Takeru didn't have an answer.
No memory of what came next.
No timeline to compare against.
No future knowledge.
He looked around at everyone.
Then smiled.
"So…"
A pause.
"How about we go back to the curse beach?"
Silence.
Yuji blinked.
"…The curse beach?"
Takeru nodded.
"Yep."
Hakari grinned.
"I'm in."
Maki shrugged.
"Sure."
One of the Ryus laughed.
"Sounds better than sitting around."
One of the Uros nodded.
"I don't object."
Takeru smiled.
"Perfect."
He turned toward the others.
"Everyone pack whatever you need."
Yuji looked around.
"Are we seriously going to a beach after everything that just happened?"
Takeru nodded.
"Exactly."
Takaba raised his hand.
"Can we bring food?"
"Absolutely."
Hakari grinned.
"Now that's a vacation."
Takeru laughed.
For the first time, nobody had a plan.
Nobody knew what the next chapter of their lives would be.
And maybe that was okay.
Because for once…
they could decide what happened next.
