Chapter 338 - Chapter 4: Promotion Day

Jujutsu High felt unusually normal that day.

Too normal.

The kind of normal that makes experienced sorcerers nervous.

Inside the main building, the higher-ups had already gathered.

Shoko stood off to the side looking like she regretted being alive at work.

Utahime looked exhausted on principle alone.

Nanami was present purely out of obligation.

And Gojo—both versions—were already arguing over something unrelated.

Yuji, Megumi, Nobara, Hakari, Kirara, and the rest of the younger group were waiting nearby.

Confused.

Tired.

Suspicious.

Then—

the doors slid open.

Takeru walked in first.

Geto followed right behind him.

Both looked way too relaxed for people walking into a promotion meeting.

Takeru was still casually chewing an orb.

Crunch.

Geto sighed slightly.

"…Let's get this over with."

Nanami adjusted his glasses.

"…You two requested promotion evaluation?"

Takeru nodded immediately.

"Correct."

Utahime frowned.

"…On what grounds?"

Takeru pointed behind him vaguely.

"Everything."

Silence.

Megumi muttered under his breath.

"…That's not a legal answer."

Gojo leaned forward, clearly entertained.

"…I mean… he's not wrong though."

Utahime snapped instantly.

"…DO NOT ENCOURAGE HIM."

Takeru raised a hand.

"I would like Special Grade."

A pause.

"…Plus."

Another pause.

"…Plus plus."

He leaned slightly forward.

"…Plus plus plus plus plus—"

Nanami interrupted immediately.

"…No."

Takeru blinked.

"…Counterpoint."

Geto sighed.

"…He's going to keep going."

Yuji raised his hand.

"…Is there a limit?"

Shoko answered flatly from the side.

"…There should be."

Hakari leaned back casually.

"…I vote we just give it to him so he stops talking."

Kirara nodded.

"…That is actually the safest option."

Utahime slammed a hand on the table.

"…THIS IS NOT HOW RANKING WORKS."

Takeru pointed at her.

"…I defeated everything in the forest."

A pause.

"…And then optimized their vacation schedule."

Silence.

Nanami rubbed his forehead.

"…That sentence should not exist."

Geto added calmly.

"…He also introduced efficiency into cursed spirit management."

Utahime slowly turned her head.

"…That is not a qualification."

Gojo grinned.

"…It kinda is though."

Utahime looked like she was about to combust.

Then—

Takeru leaned slightly forward again.

"…So."

A pause.

"…Do I get it?"

Silence filled the room.

Everyone looked at each other.

No one wanted to be the one to answer.

Finally—

Nanami sighed deeply.

"…We'll… review it."

Takeru nodded immediately.

"Accepted."

Geto glanced at him.

"…You're too calm about this."

Takeru shrugged.

"I already passed emotionally."

Yuji blinked.

"…That doesn't make sense."

Megumi muttered.

"…Nothing about him does."

And just like that—

the promotion meeting ended with no resolution…

…but also no one willing to deny what had already happened in practice.

Outside the room—

the younger group watched Takeru casually walk out.

Still chewing.

Still relaxed.

Still acting like "Special Grade ++++++" was just a scheduling formality.

Hakari leaned back.

"…Yeah, he's getting it."

Kirara sighed.

"…Unfortunately, yes."

And somewhere deep in the building—

the higher-ups began arguing about whether reality itself needed a new ranking tier.
