“The Promise of Waiting”

In a small village named Shiulipur lived a quiet boy called Arian.

He preferred silence and lived in his own world.

The greatest happiness in his life was Neera.

She was the most cheerful girl in the village—her smile felt like it could pause the entire world.

Every afternoon, they would sit by the riverside, talking for hours.

They dreamed of moving to the city one day and starting a new life together.

But one day, suddenly, Neera's family took her away to the city.

Before leaving, she said only one thing—

"I will write to you… wait for me."

And then, the waiting began.

At first, every day…

Then every week…

Then every month…

Arian kept looking at the postman with hope in his eyes.

But no letters came.

People in the village said,

"She has forgotten you…"

But Arian believed—

Neera would never break her promise.

Years passed.

One day, suddenly, an old envelope arrived.

Covered in dust, with trembling handwriting—"For Arian."

As he opened it, his eyes filled with tears.

Neera had written—

"I never forgot you… but I can't come back anymore.

I've been sick for a long time, fighting quietly.

Maybe by the time you read this, I won't be here anymore…

But don't wait for me… live your life…"

At the end of the letter, it said—

"Love never ends, only people disappear."

That day, sitting by the riverside, Arian cried for the first time.

And then, slowly, he stood up.

Because he understood—

Even if waiting ends, love never does.
