Chapter 1 - part 1

"Sir,sir sir … Johan is not picking his calls."

The man stood up abruptly, panic flashing across his face.

"Still not answering?"

The young lady beside him quickly grabbed the phone and dialed again. From her composure, she was clearly a staff member.

"Call him again, Jessi!"

"Yes, sir."

Mr. David's voice trembled as he spoke, louder this time.

"Johan… why now? Why today of all days?"

Johan lay on his bed, staring at his ringing phone. He had ignored it several times. It rang again.

He sighed… then picked up.

"Hello."

"Johan! Where are you?" Jessi's voice came quickly. "We've been calling you. You know today is important. for you and the company"

Before she could finish, Mr. David snatched the phone.

"Johan"

"Sir," Johan cut in calmly, "I can't do this interview. Please find someone else."

There was a pause.

"Why?" Mr. David asked sharply.

"I just can't. I'm not the only journalist here."

"Are you out of your mind?" Mr. David snapped. "Do you know how much we spent to secure this interview? And now 30 minutes before we go live you're telling me to replace you?"

Johan said nothing.

Mr. David's tone softened slightly.

"What's the problem?"

"Nothing."

"Johan, we spent a lot of money. Please don't cause us a loss."

A brief silence.

"…Fine. I'm on my way."

The call ended.

Mr. David exhaled sharply.

"Everyone, hurry up! Finish preparations he's coming!"

Meanwhile, Johan got dressed and stepped into his car. Just as he started driving, his phone rang again.

"Oh God… I said I'm coming, can I breathe?" he muttered irritably.

He checked the screen.

"Naina…"

His expression softened instantly.

"Hello."

"Brother!" Naina's excited voice came through. "Are you out already? I can't wait to see you on TV!"

Johan chuckled lightly.

"Really? Why are you so excited? It's not my first time on TV you're overreacting."

"Overreacting?" she laughed. "You're about to interview one of the biggest writers in the country! A young, successful businesswoman one of the richest! And you're saying I'm overreacting?"

"I'll call you back," he said quickly, cutting her off.

Minutes later, Johan arrived at a massive building.

DAVE COMPANY was boldly written at the top.

He stepped inside calmly. Staff moved around in a rush.

Ignoring everything, he went straight to Mr. David's office.

"What are you doing here?" Mr. David snapped immediately. "Go to the makeup room!

Johan smiled slightly.

"I just came to greet you."

"After everything we said on the phone?" Mr. David stood up, pushing him toward the door. "Go! We'll talk after the interview."

Johan walked away.

Just this interview, he thought. Talking to her… it's part of my dream anyway.

Elsewhere, a luxury car moved smoothly along the road.

Inside sat a young woman fair, elegant, effortlessly classy. Everything about her screamed wealth, from her glowing skin to her expensive outfit.

A tablet rested in her hand.

Her phone rang.

She smiled.

"Hello, Mom."

"My baby, how are you?"

"I'm fine, Mom."

"Have you arrived?"

"Not yet. My flight just landed. I'm on my way… but I'm already late."

"Don't worry about that. Just get there safely."

"Okay, Mom. Send my greetings to Sophia, Sandra, and Sabastian. Love you."

"I love you too."

Moments later, her car stopped in front of Dave Company.

The moment she stepped out, cameras flashed everywhere.

Journalists surrounded her instantly.

"Miss Anna! What made you this successful at such a young age?"

"Why did you choose this company for your first TV interview?"

She said nothing at first. Just walked gracefully.

Then suddenly, she stopped.

With a soft smile, she turned back.

"That's exactly why I'm here… to answer all your questions."

And with that, she walked inside elegant, untouchable.

Anna Ethan had arrived.
