After arriving in Armskirk there was a long line of people entering the city, many of the people coming in were either on A) Pilgrimage to the Holy City of the Slane Theocracy, B) Refuges from Re-Estize who can already see the writing on the wall and want to begin a fresh start in a new country or C) were Merchants traveling around to sell their wares.
Luckily with my Origin Vampire physique my hearing and eyesight was incredibly sharp that I could see the minute details of the documents that merchants need to show off.
So I bought a cheap 'Documents of Forgery' magic item that allows you to make paperwork look legitimate to the naked eye.
"Alright keep it moving! Next!" One of the Guards said as I brought my cart up to the gate as I pulled out a set of papers for the guard.
"Name?"
"Fontaine Sinclair."
"Where are you from?"
"The Holy Robel Kingdom."
"With no escorts?"
"They were mercenaries that I hired in Re-Estize, once Armskirk came into sight they did their job and headed back."
"Uhuh, and where is your final destination on your trip?"
"Why of course my final stop is the Capital."
"Alright, we are going to give a quick check of your goods, make sure no contraband can be found within." The guard said as he nodded to the others who began to check out my cart for everything within it.
After a few minutes the other guards came out, "All clear." Hearing that the guard with my papers handed them back to me.
"How long is your stay within Armskirk?" He said after I handed him 15 silver, the price of entering a foreign city as a merchant, it's only 2 silver for peasants but even for them that's a rather steep price to pay, however it's such a high price due to this countries overwhelming security as they were on the same level of the Baruth Empire in strength.
However most of that strength was within the six scriptures of the Slane Theocracy, or I should say 5 as Ainz had obliterated the Sunlight Scripture himself already.
'The only one that could moderately cause a problem for us is the Black Scripture who would have brainwashed Shalltear in the main timeline' I thought to myself as I made my way into Armskirk
But they are mostly the strong due to having the ability to use the gear from previous players that somehow ended up in this world before us, which wasn't explained well in the source material, but I have my theories on how they got here before us.
Soon enough I reached the Merchants Guild to make my fake papers become legitimate in the eyes of the guild by registering myself here.
I had to show my wares which I had many of, and after passing a simple examination I earned my license to sell freely within the Slane Theocracy.
With these papers and my skills as an Origin Vampire I was easily able to make my business very successful along with gathering information.
With my 'Voice of Magesty' a skill that influences NPC's of a lower level then me I was able to gain the attention of many different crowds of people.
Most information I found out wasn't particularly important, old cardinals retiring and new ones taking their place, the Sunlight Scripture sending forces towards Re-Estize for unknown reasons, stuff that didn't really matter to me to gather but I heard all the same.
"I hear that the Dragon Kingdom is under threat again by the Beastmen Tribes once more." One man says to me after I subtly ask him about things he has heard about.
"Oh really? Aren't they allies to the Theocracy?" I say after taking his coin while he looks at the bottle of rich wine before him.
"Tch, yes those scaled beasts are allies of ours, but if we had the strength I wouldn't see it as a problem for the six scriptures to subjugate those damned Dragons." He said sounding irritated about it.
"Of course, of course they could, though why haven't they in the first place?" I ask as the man shakes his head.
"It's not that easy, from what I hear several of the ancient dragon lords are still alive and kicking from the time the Six Great Gods were still among us mortals, or 'Alliance' with them was only formed because of the efforts of them, however while we revere our gods they did impart heavily that humans are the superior race above all others! But those damn dragon lords must have even been a threat to our gods back then and with none of their God-Kin being nearly as strong as them it's hard to dissolve the alliance without their being problems for the Theocracy as a whole." He said to me.
Hearing that I waved him off and he left, "The Dragon Kingdom huh…." I muttered to myself as I thought back into my meta knowledge once more.
The Dragon Kingdom was in decline more or less due to the lower population birthrates of true dragons and most being only half bloods or even having a fraction of the dragon blood within their veins compared to true ones.
Not only that there is barely a handful of Dragonlords left in existence with most going into a deep seclusion and no longer wanting to be apart of the world.
'But what if I could be the benefactor of their race?' I thought to myself as I made my way out of Armskirk and towards the Holy Capital along with all the other cities.
Everything was basically the same information I heard everywhere else until I finally decided to get more information gathering from the Information Guild that's job is to go around gathering news of this nature.
'They really have fallen low if they need a pedophile to help with protecting their kingdom.' I thought hearing more and more about how bad the situation was in the Dragon Kingdom.
The Queen Draudillon Oriculus, the Great-Granddaughter of the Platinum Dragon Lord who founded the Dragon Kingdom, who had to disguise herself as a little girl or else the leader of the Adamantite Adventurer Team called Crystal Tear wouldn't help defend the Kingdom, it really shows how low the Dragon Kingdom has fallen.
The Slane Theocracy doesn't go out of their way in destroying this non-human nation is due to both the fear of the Dragon Lords that they have no idea if they are all dead or not and that the Dragon Kingdom supplies them rare ores and the like only found within the mountains of the Dragon Kingdoms.
But with the Sunlight Scriptures destruction at the hands of Ainz the Dragon Kingdom won't get any aid from their 'ally' as a result leaving them on their own when needing to deal with the upcoming Beastman Invasion.
Then their was the Elves, basically the Slane Theocracy was taking their sweet time wiping them out in hopes for their soldiers to gain the 'Ranger' skill for themselves without knowing how to do it optimally leading to heavy losses on the Theocracy's side.
But the Elves weren't faring much better either as while they had the Forest advantage, their main fighting force was within the hands of their King.
However he cares only for strength and seeing the weakness of his own kind he looks at them with disgust as only he is the one worth caring about and that is himself.
He is an extreme narcissist who cares only for himself and creating strong heirs to help him one day take over the New World himself.
"So he is a delusional megalomaniac with thoughts of grandeur who wants to take over the world with an army of his own offspring…. Why does that sound oddly familiar?" I couldn't help muttering to myself.
It took a few days to gather all this information for myself while making a hefty sum of money for myself in acting as a merchant I had two options before me.
Wait for Olga and Chloe to finish getting stronger and being great enough figures to be able to lead the Elves on their own.
Or go to the Dragon Kingdom and help them with their problem in exchange for their allegiance.
But as I was thinking about this I felt my Orb vibrate, signaling I had got myself a customer in my shop.
So I decided to put that off for now and go greet my next customer.
