Its the 4th Quarter... One Minute and Twenty Five Seconds Left in the game. We're down by 6, 89-95.
"Shanghai East Middle School Inbounds the ball. One Minute and Twenty Seconds left in the clock, Xiao Cheng has the ball." The Announcer said, Xiao bounces the ball up and down. A player from the opposing team guarded him tight, As Xiao dribbled the ball between his legs and took a little step back.
As he continued dribbling the ball before hitting a step back and pulling from the three point line. SWISH. As Xiao scored a 3. 92-95. Only 3 points to tie game. As Xiaos team from the bench celebrated. "Shanghai West Inbound the ball. Chuo Lee has the ball, His been Incredible so far. He has scored 47 points in the game and 10 Rebounds." Chuo Lee, The Star Player from Shanghai West, Xiao Long rival since the start of middle school so basically it's like Curry and LeBron in Cavs vs Warriors Era.
Chuo Lee was a Prodigy and top prospect, Some say he's the LeBron of China Middle School. At only 15 year of age,Hes already dunking like a Pro. As Chuo Lee dribbles the ball and drives to the rim and slammed it hard against the defender. As the referee blows his whistle. "Foul on Number 12, One Free throw." As Chuo scored a AND-1 Dunk. As the crowds goes wild after that dunk, As they showed the replay on the jumbotron. His head was over the rim as he took off outside of the key. Xiao gritted his teeth. As Chuo made the free throw to make the gap 6 points again.
Chuo jogged back to their side of the court to defend. Xiao's teammate Inbound the ball to him as he dribbles the ball to Chuos team side of the court. The moment he passes half court. He was guarded by a tall player, Xiao was locked in as he began to do some dribble moves. Between the legs followed by a crossover, Fake spin, and drives to the other side as he goes for the layup but was blocked by Chuo who came flying out of nowhere as it bounces off the backboard.
Xiao was shocked that he got blocked. Chuo grabs the ball and run for the fastbreak and floated in the air as he lays the ball up to the rim. The game continued till the end as the last score was, 92-104. As Chuo and his teammate celebrated as they win Shanghai's Middle School Basketball Tournament. As Chuo looks calm after the win as his teammate carries the trophy and gave it to Chuo. As he holds it.
After the game, Xiaos Team and Chuos Team exhange hand shakes as Xiao wipes his tears after losing the championship. All of he and his team crying after the lose. They all leaved the stadium, Xiaos teammate cried on their parents shoulders, as their parents comfort them with a hug. Xiao stood still for a moment as his Coach walks up to him and patted him in his back.
"Chin up, Kid. We might lose the championship.. but their still some hope for you..." As his Coach walked past him and looks at him. "Don't give up on your dreams, Many best players also loses but that doesn't make them stop playing and give up on their dreams.." His Coach said one last time before heading to his car. Xiao walk up to his parents. They we were there waiting for him, His mom and dad walks up and hugged him tightly. "Its okay, son." His dad said. Before they could leave, A man in a suit approached. "Are you Xiao Cheng?" The man said. Both of his parents and Xiao turned to look at him, The man in suit looks professional. "Excuse me but may I talk to your parents?" Xiao nodded and went inside as he watches parents talk to the man with skepticism and curiosity.
The man gave his parents a card. "We're from a school in Beijing. And we watched your son played. I'm quite impressed by how he plays, He's a very good 3pt shooter." Xiaos Parents look at the card and back to the man. " You said you're from a school in Beijing right?" His Mom said as the man nodded. "Yes Ma'am. We have a great training facilities and acces to the gym to train alone. We gave special treatment to our athletes. They have their owned physical therapy session. And we handled their academics." The Man said as Xiaos Parent looks at the man and whispered, "This guy seems shady.." "I know right, I don't trust him..." They whispered loudly enough the man to hear. As the man cleared his throat. "If you want. Your son could visit anytime to check the campus if he wants to." The man said. "I'll be going now." The man leaves.
After awhile at the dinner table, Xiaos parent announced the news to Xiao that he got scouted by a school in Beijing. "Beijing?!" Xiao said, As his parents nodded. "Yes, They said you can come and visit them anytime you want." His dad said. Xiao looks surprised about the news. Playing for a known team has been dream for Xiao. The next day came. As Xiao traveled from Shanghai to Beijing to check the Campus and the Training Facility.
The man from the yesterday guided him, "This our main building." He pointed at very huge building. As he showed Xiao inside of the building, through the classrooms, cafeteria, library, The Library was huge. With 10 feet bookshelves surrounded the room with many books you could read and study.
And Finally the man shows the gym and facility. The Basketball Court was huge bigger than Xiaos middle school court. The man showed him the weight room, the physical therapy room and they even had their own swimming pool. After showing him around. The man bids farewell as Xiao leaves the campus. He couldn't believe it a school like that has scouted him.. He couldn't feel but feel a little bit proud on himself, as he grinned. Suddenly his phone rings, He pulled his phone out, And see a blog article about him getting recruited as he smirks widely as he scrolls down and read. As he reads, he read a name that's very familiar. "N-no way.... They also recruited... him?! Chuo Lee!"
