Chapter 45 - The Three Factions Meeting part 6

Bonus chapter for reaching the power stones goal! Enjoy!

----------------------------------------------------------

Adrien glanced and saw Azazel fighting a devil woman with twelve devil wings, meaning she was a Satan-class devil. Adrien focused back on his own fight.

'I wanted to finish him, catching him off guard with a dismantle, the situation is tricky now.'

Vali shot toward Adrien at terrifying speed, aiming to slam straight into him.

Adrien threw a dagger downward, then vanished from his spot and reappeared beside the falling dagger.

Vali tore through the air, passing right through the place where Adrien had been floating a second ago.

'I can't let him get close, I can't make him fight at close distance, if he just touches me he'll be able to half my power with just one touch'

Divine Dividing is a Sacred Gear that activates when its wielder touches an opponent, dividing the target's power in half every ten seconds. The stolen half is not erased; it is added to the wielder, creating a cruel gap where the enemy grows weaker while the user grows stronger. However, once the wielder enters Balance Breaker, that restriction disappears. The ten-second interval is removed, allowing Divide to be used repeatedly without delay.

Adrien fired several Dismantles at Vali, one after another.

But the White Dragon Emperor activated Half Dimension—a technique that could halve the size of objects, living beings, and even attacks without needing to touch them.

The demonic energy inside Adrien's Dismantles was cut in half. The slashes immediately became weaker and slower.

Vali slipped between the attacks and shot toward Adrien again, his eyes locked onto him, carefully watching what he would do next.

Adrien's wings beat aggressively, and he launched himself backward, creating distance between them. He quickly reached the inner side of the barrier, then flew along its surface.

Vali shot after him. "Are you going to keep running away!?" he shouted.

Adrien didn't answer. He simply dropped downward at high speed, cutting through the air like a bullet.

Vali kept chasing him. To anyone watching, it looked like a game of tag, and Vali was 'it.'

Then Adrien suddenly flipped in midair. Magic circles appeared in front of both his hands. From his right hand, water exploded outward. From his left, a huge wave of flames erupted.

The two elements collided and fused together, creating a thick mist. In seconds, it spread through the entire area, blocking everyone's view.

Elemental magic was basic magic for devils, every devil could at least had a few elements they could use in their arsenal.

"What are you planning?"

Vali gathered energy in his hand and clapped his hand, shockwaves spread around and the mist were cleared instantely.

Adrien could not be sensed when he was not using demonic energy, so Vali immediately began searching for him. Then he saw him.

Adrien was closing the distance with Katerea. Adrien gathered demonic energy around his feet and exploded it outward. His speed doubled in an instant, turning him into a blur as he shot toward the Leviathan descendant.

Both Katerea and Azazel noticed Adrien rushing toward them at high speed.

Azazel smirked and shot upward, clearing the way.

In front of Katerea, multi-layered magic circles formed one after another. Vali shot after Adrien, he raised his hands, and several energy swords flew at Adrien.

But the moment Vali attacked, Adrien raised his hand.

"Time—expand."

Adrien's time domain expanded instantly. Vali had just launched his attack, so he was not fast enough to use Half Dimension on the domain.

Katerea's movement was immediately slowed. She had been caught off guard by Adrien's sudden attack.

She had known he was an Agares the second she saw him fighting Vali. He was the devil reported to have defeated Kokabiel. She also knew what the Agares clan's ability was. What she had not expected was for him to ignore the White Dragon Emperor and come after her this early in the fight.

'It worked once before. Let's hope it works again.'

Adrien closed his eyes and shut out everything except his senses and his demonic energy. Then, suddenly, he accelerated even more. He slipped under Katerea's magic circles, changed his flight direction instantly, and shot upward toward her in a split second. Vali's energy swords crashed into the magic circles instead.

Vali raised his hand and activated "Half Dimension".

The entire area around Adrien and Katerea began to distort. Adrien felt his power waver as the space around him was being halved, but he had already reached Katerea. She extended a messy shield of flesh in front of her, but she was too slow to escape. Just as the space around them was fully divided, Adrien placed his hand on the mass of flesh, and both of them vanished.

"…I must be getting rusty," Azazel muttered, his voice heavy with self-mockery as he looked at Vali. "Letting someone this close to me turn traitor right under my nose…"

Vali met the fallen angel's gaze without hesitation.

"They contacted me while I was returning from my mission to retrieve Kokabiel," he said calmly. "Sorry, Azazel. Their vision of the future sounded more interesting."

"So the Vanishing Dragon serves Ophis now?"

"No, It's more of a collaboration. They offered me something tempting—a chance to fight Asgard." A faint smile touched his lips. "I've been searching for new ways to test my power. How could I refuse? You would never wage war against Valhalla or the Aesir, would you, Azazel? You hate unnecessary conflict."

"I told you to become strong. But I also told you not to put the entire world in danger."

Vali's expression did not change. "That has nothing to do with this," he said. "I just want to keep fighting until the end of time."

Azazel stared at him in silence for a moment.

"…I see." His voice lowered, carrying a trace of disappointment. "Maybe I always knew this day would come. From the moment we met, you were never the type to stay in one place. You only ever wanted one thing—to test yourself against the strong."

"Awww, you're going to make me cry," Adrien said, floating above them.

Both Azazel and Vali turned toward him. Adrien's clothes were waving as if violent winds were whipping around him, even though the air was completely still. He was just aura farming.

Katerea Leviathan was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly, a shadow fell over them. A chill spread through the air, and everyone looked toward the school building.

A giant ice golem stood there, swinging an enormous ice axe down.

"What's happening?" Azazel asked.

Adrien smirked. "I put that curvy woman in front of Sona. I guess Serafall didn't like it."

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

A gigantic explosion erupted as the giant ice axe crashed into a massive shield of flesh.

Adrien glanced toward the battlefield. "Oh, Rias and Issei succeeded. That little vampire is under control now."

Azazel looked at Vali and smirked. "Even though I told them not to interfere, there's no stopping Serafall. So now it's two against one, Vali. Do you really still want to do this?"

Vali's lips curled into a mocking smile. "You might be strong, Azazel, but Adrien isn't. He's just been running away."

Adrien didn't waver under the taunt. "So you know how to run your mouth, huh? You really think I can't beat you just because of those annoying techniques?"

Vali shrugged. "Yeah. I don't think you can."

Azazel let out a dry laugh. "I think you're just trying to avoid a handicap match."

Vali raised his hand toward Azazel and activated Half Dimension.

The area around them began to distort. But this time, Vali poured a massive amount of energy into the technique. Half the space inside the barrier started warping, including part of the school building and the yard.

"How is that even fair...?" Rias's voice echoed from below.

Everyone had escaped the battle between the two Leviathans, only to be met with the White Dragon Emperor's Half Dimension technique.

Azazel frowned. He couldn't teleport everyone out at the same time. He looked around for a second, and his eyes landed on Issei.

He shot a glance at Issei then smirked, "Hey red dragon emperor, That power divides things around him in half. Meaning that if he's serious, Rias Gremory's bustline could also be reduced."

Adrien's ears twitched. 'How could I not have thought of that? No... I'd rather die!'

Issei seemed to stop for a second. His body and mind both froze. Then he craned his neck mechanically toward Rias.

Seeing his expression, she shuddered in fear. "Don't—" she tried to say.

"Don't you even daaaaaare! You bastard! I won't let yoooooouuuuuu! You're not touching the Prez's breasts, Vaaaaaliiiii!"

"Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost!"

Adrien shot upward, his eyes serious now. He needed to stop Vali immediately.

Issei shot in from the other side. He had entered his Balance Breaker, and his speed was tremendous. Vali smirked and charged toward Adrien at high speed. Both of them extended their hands toward each other.

From behind, Issei had gathered a huge amount of energy into the shape of a ball, controlling it with both hands.

Just as Adrien and Vali were about to collide, Adrien teleported Katerea right between them. Vali's hand touched her stomach, and he activated Divide, the technique he had meant to use on Adrien.

She lost half of her remaining demonic energy, and her power dropped significantly.

"Shit!" Vali screamed, at the same time an energy blast appeared in front of him, the blast hit him head on and create a large dent in his armor.

Adrien raised his hand and, at the perfect moment, released a maximum-output Dismantle.

The slash cut through the weakened Katerea at the waist, cutting her in half. Then continued toward Vali, striking the cracked part of his armor.

The Dismantle tore through the armor and carved a deep gash across Vali's body. Blood poured down from his intestines mouth and nose, his helmet from inside was a pool of blood.

"Time: Expand."

Issei flew toward Vali at high speed and threw a punch.

The moment Adrien's time domain expanded, Issei accelerated even further thanks to Adrien speeding him up while Vali's movements slowed.

Issei's full-power punch broke through Vali's helmet and smashed straight into his face. At the same time, Adrien accelerated Vali's body inside the time domain, launching him out of it at several times the speed of sound. Vali tore through the air like a white streak before crashing into the barrier surrounding the school.

From the beginning, Adrien was never planning to fight Vali one-on-one. He wanted the fight to become a two-on-one, either in his favor or Vali's. The problem wasn't Vali himself, the problem was that he couldn't fight him up close so he needed someone who could act as a shield against Vali's Divide. He had planned to drag out the fight until he found someone who could become that shield.

That was why he went after Katerea first and placed a magic circle on her before teleporting her to Serafall. He was not just removing Katerea from the battlefield; he was preparing a piece for later.

Issei was naturally the best person to fight Vali at close range, since they were natural rivals with opposite powers. Even if Vali halved Issei's power, Issei could simply Boost again and double his energy back.

Azazel understood that. That was why he pulled Issei into the fight. With Issei there, they finally had someone who could pressure Vali up close without being completely shut down by Divide. Vali was not beaten by raw power alone, he was outsmarted by both Adrien and Azazel.
