Chapter 2 - CHAPTER TWO: THE AWAKENING OF A KING

The sky darkened…

because of me.

The arena that once roared with bloodlust had fallen

into a suffocating silence. Thousands of eyes stared down at me, not with hatred this time…

…but fear.

Raw. Undeniable fear.

I was still on my knees, my body trembling, my breath unsteady.

Yet something had changed.

No… something had awakened.

The mark on my chest pulsed again.

Once.

Twice.

Each beat sent a surge of heat through my veins, like molten fire replacing my blood.

I clenched my fists.

"What… is happening to me?"

"You're finally being born."

The voice.

Cold. Ancient. Amused.

It echoed inside my mind like it owned the space.

"Get out of my head!"

A low chuckle answered me.

"Your head? Your body? Your power?"

A pause.

"None of it was ever truly yours."

My heart skipped.

"What are you talking about…?"

Before the voice could answer...

"ARCHERS! READY YOUR BOWS!"

The command thundered across the arena.

My head snapped up.

Above, the king, my father, was no longer sitting.

He stood.

And for the first time…

He looked at me like I was a threat.

"Kill him," he said coldly.

No hesitation.

No doubt.

Just execution.

My chest tightened.

So that was it.

No explanations.

No mercy.

Just death.

Again.

The sound of hundreds of bowstrings pulling back filled the air.

Tension coiled like a storm about to break.

I should have been afraid.

I should have been running.

But instead…

I was angry.

"After everything… you won't even tell me why?"

My voice echoed louder than I expected.

Stronger.

Something in it made even the soldiers hesitate.

The king's gaze hardened.

"You were a mistake the moment you were conceived."

Those words hit harder than any blade.

A mistake.

My nails dug into my palms, drawing blood.

"So you'd rather kill your own son… than face what I am?"

Silence.

Then

"You are not my son."

Silence.

Something inside me

Shattered.

The mark flared violently.

Pain surged

But this time…

I didn't scream.

I endured it.

I embraced it.

The voice returned, softer now.

Satisfied.

"Good… let it consume you."

A single arrow was released.

Then another.

Then hundreds.

The sky turned black.

A rain of death descending toward me.

Time slowed.

I could see every arrow.

Every flicker of fear in the soldiers' eyes.

Every twitch of my father's hand.

And in that moment…

I understood.

This power

It wasn't just awakening.

It was obeying me.

👁️ SOVEREIGN'S DECREE

"Stop."

The word didn't feel like mine.

It felt… absolute.

Like something deeper had spoken through me.

And the world obeyed.

The word left my lips like a command.

The world listened.

The arrows froze.

Mid-air.

Every single one.

Gasps erupted across the arena.

My eyes widened.

"…I did that?"

"Of course you did."

The voice sounded almost bored now.

"You are no longer prey."

A slow smile formed on my lips.

For the first time…

I felt it.

Control.

The arrows trembled.

Then, with a flick of my fingers

They turned.

Pointing back at the soldiers.

Panic spread instantly.

"Release! Release formation!"

Too late.

"Go."

The arrows shot forward.

Screams tore through the arena as chaos erupted above.

I stood slowly.

The chains around my wrists shattered as if they were nothing.

The lions remained bowed.

The crowd… was no longer cheering.

They were trying to escape.

My gaze lifted to the throne.

To him.

The man who called me a mistake.

"You tried to kill me twice."

My voice was calm now.

Too calm.

"But now…"

The air around me warped slightly, dark energy coiling like living shadows.

"You don't get to decide my fate anymore."

The king's expression shifted, calculating, cautious.

"Guards! Protect the throne!"

Hundreds moved instantly.

Not that it mattered.

Because I had already taken a step forward and the ground beneath me cracked.

"Yes…" the voice whispered, almost pleased.

"Show them."

I looked up at the man who had everything…

And felt nothing.

No love.

No hesitation.

Only purpose.

"I'll burn this kingdom to the ground…"

The shadows surged violently.

"…and build something that fears me instead."

The sky roared.

And for the first time

The world didn't resist me.

It answered.
