I sat by my mother's side. She alternated between talking with me and snoozing. She remained weak, and I wanted nothing more than for her to rest. If she were to recover then she needed to be rested. I needed her to be okay. But ,I had to say, I cherished those brief moments when she was awake. She found the time to ask me questions of my life. It felt so strange when I pondered upon it... the woman who brought me into the world knew nothing of the life I had lived...
