Anger flooded through my body as I stalked away from the bedroom. The sound of the door slamming did not bring me any pleasure, because I knew, sitting behind it, Kael would now be comforting Grace. Did that fool think that I would stand by and allow him to disrespect me that way? He had been more of a clown than I thought if he had fallen for her fake tears too...
Instead of returning to my room like Kael had ordered me too I wandered along the hallways of the packhouse, toward the front doors. I was free of the whining presence of Grace, and after the way Kael had reacted I did not doubt that he would be staying away too. The two of them were welcome to one another. I had things I wanted to do.
I wandered toward the door without hesitation. I was free to continue my exploring. Find what awaited me upon the other side of the border, with nobody to hold me back. See if whoever was calling remained...
