I could see the look upon Kael's face. The image upon my phone that his eyes would not leave, should tell him all that he needed to know. The words I could not find. My wolf felt weaker than ever and I was losing the will to battle this any longer. The truth needed to find a way out...
"Her hair..." Kael all but whispered and I smiled. As Wren grew older the tell-tale blond hair began to darken. Then she dyed it too. Once dyed, the blondness never returned.
"It changed as she got older. Grew dark." I quickly explained.
A look of understanding passed over Kael's face, but I could not help but wonder if he now knew the truth of our situation. The night that he recalled was not the way he remembered. His eyes lingered upon me for a moment like he was lost within his own thoughts before he nodded. "But if you were so close, Grace, what changed? Why would you want to lose such a good friend"
