Wren had sat herself back down, albeit uncomfortably after me all but begging her to stay, and now she looked like she was avoiding my gaze. Could I blame her? No, I don't suppose I could. I had made a fool of myself. Grace was confusing me, and to top it off, Wren's scent was driving me wild. This whole situation was proving more complicated than I think I could ever have anticipated...
I had lost all appetite, so the breakfast now remained untouched upon the table, as Wren seemed uninterested in it too. Grace's sudden departure meant my plans for a pleasant meal together had certainly gone awry. I was failing massively with this attempt to get closer to the she-wolf I wanted to make my bride. But, at the same time, I don't think I had expected her to be quite so resistant.
