Chapter 149 - Chapter 148 Lend Me Luna

"Should we tell Sister Bai about this guess?"

"No need. Whether or not Eriko is Evangeline remains to be verified. Let's make preparations first; if it really is her, we should even less tell others about this matter." Leticia answered very seriously.

This time, she wasn't rejecting Kira's proposal based on personal thoughts; she decided to keep their speculation hidden for the sake of the Demon Race's interests.

There is only so much cake to go around; it's better to have one less person sharing it than one more.

Leticia trusted her own appetite; swallowing this delicious cake all by herself wouldn't be a problem.

"For now, get those two suckers to bring people over quickly, and they must act covertly. If they get discovered, they'll be in for a rough time." Leticia leaned back in her chair, the expression on her face giving the illusion that the world was in the palm of her hand.

She was the King; this was the Miss Demon King.

Then, the next moment, she let out a yawn, ruining her image. "Haa, I'm tired, so tired. Time for a nap."

"Sister, can't you keep it up for a little longer?" Kira was speechless at Leticia's rapid loss of composure.

She had finally caught a glimpse of the sister she once knew, only for it to vanish like a bubble in water before Kira even had time to sigh.

"Huh? Who am I supposed to keep up appearances for? Those disobedient guys aren't even here." Leticia stood up and walked toward the bedroom, shaking her head. "There's no point in torturing myself."

Forcing a serious expression is exhausting; it's nowhere near as relaxing as being carefree like this.

Nowadays, Leticia only puts on a serious face in front of certain high-ranking nobles; in front of other members of the Demon Race, her expression is usually quite gentle.

Although, to those demons, a smiling Leticia is even more terrifying than a straight-faced one.

Leticia's nap time is relatively fixed, basically sleeping from noon until around two in the afternoon.

After waking up, she read for a while, and under her sister's supervision, read some manga, and soon it was dinner time.

After having a peaceful dinner, Leticia decided to take a bath. The roughhousing with Melanie in the morning had made her sweat a little, so she needed to wash up.

"I won't trouble Kira today; I think I can wash by myself." Refusing her sister's request to come in, Leticia closed the bathroom door and began to undress.

Since she hadn't gone out today, she was still wearing her pajamas.

As for her pajamas, one could only say they were quite... conservative.

The pants, which were usually nowhere to be seen, finally had a sense of presence; the thick cotton pants gave Leticia a doubled sense of security.

Under the pink pajamas that matched the sleeping pants was a white short-sleeved shirt. Unbuttoning the shirt one by one, Leticia's incredibly disappointing airport was symbolically covered by white underwear.

To tell the truth, even if it weren't covered, there wouldn't be anything to see.

Leticia's flatness was the real deal; it was flat without needing any explanation.

She wasn't small; she was completely absent, as if she had forgotten to develop that organ while she was in her mother's womb.

It couldn't help but make one worry whether her future children would become just as regrettable as their mother due to malnutrition.

"I'm flat-chested, and I'm proud..." Leticia wiped her hand across her steel board, and after confirming there really wasn't a single bump, she muttered to herself with black lines on her face.

Actually, it wasn't that she didn't want a little bit of a bump; for her, it didn't have to be big—something like Kira's would be quite perfect.

Small, cute, how nice.

But with this steel board of hers, if she took a photo and sent it to someone, they would compliment her by saying, "This young man has fair skin."

She turned on the showerhead, waited for the water temperature to reach a suitable level, and Leticia stepped into the water curtain.

The comfortably warm water hit Leticia's fair skin, making the girl squint her eyes in comfort.

Bathing was, as expected, the next best pleasurable experience after sleeping, eating, and playing games.

"Phew, comfortable."

Leticia showered very quickly; it only took her about twenty minutes to feel that she was washed clean.

Taking a new set of underwear from the other side and putting it on, then putting on a white nightgown, Leticia opened the bathroom door, intending to return to her room to continue lazing around.

But as soon as she opened the door, she almost bumped into someone's embrace.

Fortunately, Leticia reacted in time and stopped her forward momentum. She looked up and saw Melanie, who had already opened her arms to catch her. Without a word, she slapped her palm onto the center of the girl's chest, pushing Melanie back a few steps.

Ahem, although the position where her palm landed was a bit outrageous, please believe Leticia—it was truly just a quick reaction. It wasn't until she pushed Melanie away and retracted her hand that she realized the place she had just touched was not quite right.

"Ahem, what are you doing here?" Leticia crossed her arms and coughed twice, somewhat awkwardly.

Those two things of Melanie's were really not small.

"I just came to tell you about what happened today." Melanie also blushed and looked away. Having been attacked by Leticia unconsciously, she also felt her face burning. "You were still in the shower when I arrived, so I came here to wait for you."

While speaking, Melanie's eyes would occasionally drift over Leticia's nightgown. This camisole dress should be very seductive on other girls, after all, it exposed such a large part of the chest.

However, on Leticia, there was absolutely no such feeling at all.

This young lady would always be disappointing in certain areas.

"Oh, then let's go to the living room to talk." Leticia nodded, not minding Melanie's gaze. It would be strange if this person could communicate with her in a serious manner.

If one day Melanie were to look at Leticia without averting her eyes, Leticia might start muttering to herself, wondering what Melanie was planning to do to her.

Returning to the living room and sitting on the sofa again, Melanie briefly explained to Leticia what had happened today.

Overall, today was quite peaceful. Except for the Songstress, who was still running around looking for a way to detoxify, everyone else was doing their own jobs, and nothing major happened.

"I talked to Eriko about Little Xi's situation. Her reaction softened a bit, but in the end, she still told me that she didn't have a way to treat Little Xi."

"Hmm, understandable. As a Half-Elf, she might not necessarily have a way to neutralize the Elf Race's poison." Leticia nodded.

"However, she told us that the elf who released the poison must definitely have something on her that can detoxify it."

The poisoning elf having an antidote on her was something even a fool could think of. If this elf accidentally got the poison on herself, would she just watch herself perish?

Therefore, she must have an antidote on her just in case.

Unless this person really didn't value her own life.

"That's as good as saying nothing. If we could find that elf, would we even need to ask her?" Leticia crossed her legs, not caring in the slightest that her fair legs were exposed to the air.

Melanie nodded. What Leticia said was exactly what she had been thinking. If the attacker's trail could be found, things would become simple.

"That elf seems to have used magic to interfere with the surveillance near the scene. We only know that after her attack failed, she fled toward the suburbs; we don't know anything else."

"Even if she fled in that direction, it's been a whole day; nobody knows where she is now." Leticia shrugged. A whole day is plenty of time for an expert from the Elf Race to do so many things.

She could be hiding in every corner of Central City right now, waiting for the next opportunity to arrive.

And that poor Little Xi only has two days of life remaining.
