Chapter 70 - Chapter 70. Revisiting Old Haunts

The farce in the game didn't last long. When Luna knocked on the door to tell Letitia that her sister had responded, Miss Demon King immediately quit the game.

If they kept talking, the Guild Leader would have tried to force her and Melanie together.

She truly didn't know where the Guild Leader got such imagination. Given how terrible her relationship with Melanie was, she couldn't believe the Guild Leader actually said things like, "Qianqian and York Rose have such a great relationship."

Are human girls' thoughts always this jumpy?

It really surprised Letitia.

"Her Highness's reply is yes, and the sooner, the better." Luna relayed Kira's response to Letitia.

"The sooner, the better, huh." Letitia nodded. It seemed Kira was indeed very concerned about this book. "Then let's set a time and place... Hey, you with the surname York, can we change the place we were supposed to go on Wednesday?"

They were already planning to do something bad on Wednesday anyway, so adding a little extra spice seemed like a good idea.

"Are you planning to..." Melanie understood Letitia's intention.

This girl was planning to slack off.

If she scheduled the meeting for tomorrow, Letitia could complete both tasks at once: meeting her sister and continuing to play the Black and White Duo with Melanie.

If she did them separately, Letitia would have to pick another time to go out, which was something completely unacceptable for her since she refused to leave the house.

Why do something in two trips when you can solve it in one? What a waste.

"Ask around and see what places in Central City are suitable for shady deals," Letitia said to Melanie.

She didn't know which places in Central City could be used for such things; she hadn't even visited some of the landmark buildings in Central City.

After all, she was a true, dyed-in-the-wool homebody.

Melanie, the Sword Saint who had just returned to enjoy her retirement, certainly wouldn't know the ins and outs of such things, but she knew plenty of people who did.

Cyclops definitely knew; its job was to deal with those people playing hide-and-seek and causing trouble in the shadows.

Senpai Sani should know as well, since she was effectively Cyclops's direct superior and had an ambiguous relationship with the Hero Association.

"Oh, my lady, you want to know where to conduct shady deals? There are plenty of places."

In the end, Melanie chose Cyclops.

Cyclops quickly gave Melanie a few alternative locations. "The abandoned factory has complex terrain, so many people like to discuss business there. If the deal goes south, there are plenty of covers to protect their retreat."

"As for this church, it's usually frequented by people who think they have high status. They act refined on the surface, but who knows what kind of villains they are behind the scenes."

"And there's this amusement park here. Due to changes in urban planning a few years ago, it's been abandoned..."

"Why do they all sound decent?" Letitia felt her head spinning. "Hey, why don't you just pick one for us!"

Hearing this unfamiliar voice, Cyclops's heart tightened, but it quickly relaxed. With Melanie there, what did it have to be afraid of?

The person listening to her alongside Melanie must be Melanie's friend. Could a friend of the Sword Saint be a bad person?

"Ahem, may I ask how to address you, Miss?"

"Qian..." Letitia began, wanting to give her pseudonym.

But Melanie beat her to it and blurted out another name: "Xiao Hei. Her name is Xiao Hei."

"You MF!" Letitia cursed.

"I'm York Rose, and you're Xiao Hei." Melanie pointed at herself and then at Letitia, indicating that she had learned this from Letitia.

A week ago, when facing those three unlucky juniors, that was exactly how Letitia had addressed her.

Now, in front of Cyclops, she was finally able to get her revenge.

"Fine, Xiao Hei. I'm Xiao Hei." Letitia gritted her teeth and accepted it. It was better than revealing her real name anyway.

"Alright, Miss Xiao Hei. My suggestion is this." Cyclops wisely ignored the intimate interaction between Letitia and Melanie.

It didn't dare to investigate who this god-like person was who dared to curse directly at the Sword Saint.

Anyway, since Melanie didn't react, Cyclops didn't want to make a fuss and lose face.

It was an official, and a relatively high-ranking one at that; acting all surprised would be truly embarrassing.

After a moment of thought, it continued: "That amusement park is the best choice. There's an abandoned theater there, which is a trading spot many people like to choose."

"Many people like it? Doesn't that mean the place is very unsafe?" Letitia couldn't understand.

Shouldn't a place that is almost universally known be the first to be ruled out?

Unless... "Is that place tacitly approved?"

"Miss Xiao Hei, you know quite a bit about these things. That's right, the trading spot at the amusement park is tacitly accepted." Cyclops admitted this naturally.

The human upper echelons also needed a place to conduct some shady deals, so they reached a silent understanding with those in the dark world.

The amusement park theater was the tacitly approved trading spot.

"So, the other places are the same?"

"That's right."

"Isn't there anything you don't know?"

"...How would I know about places I don't know about?" Cyclops indicated it wasn't a god; it only knew about these public trading spots.

As for whether there were other trading locations, how would it know?

"York, if we use this location, won't it make us look unprofessional?" Letitia looked at Melanie. Choosing these locations known to the authorities didn't feel convincing at all.

They were playing the roles of big shots in Central City's dark world; what was the point of using these public trading spots?

As big shots, they should of course choose a place that no one knew about.

Melanie blinked. "I don't mind."

She was just acting as a fuse to prevent Letitia from getting too happy and giving the book directly to Kira.

As for the location or whatever, she didn't care.

"Thanks, Cyclops. I'll consider your advice." Letitia hung up the phone and then turned her head to Melanie. "I want to pick a place myself."

"Hmm?"

"Give me the map. I'll see what place is suitable." Letitia indicated she wanted to do it herself.

This was her first meeting with her sister after so many years, so of course she had to prepare well.

Personally choosing the location was part of her sincerity!

"I've got it. How about that street from last time?" A few minutes later, Letitia slapped her forehead, indicating she had an idea.

...
