Chapter 61 - Chapter 61. I Won!

The next day, early morning.

"What are you looking at me for? How much longer are you planning to stay here?" Leticia, who had returned to normal, stood with her hands on her hips, looking at Melanie with disdain. "Hurry up and get lost."

At this moment, Melanie had two large dark circles under her eyes. Compared to Leticia, who had enjoyed a peaceful night's sleep, she looked much more haggard.

"Oh." She blankly pulled back the quilt and climbed off the bed.

"Heh, you usually seduce me so much, but when it actually comes down to it, how can you be so useless?" Leticia was very satisfied with Melanie's current state, because she realized that not only had she not lost face, but she had also dealt Melanie a heavy blow.

Melanie immediately looked up. "I didn't."

It was unclear which of Leticia's statements she was denying—the part about seducing her, or the part about being useless?

Or perhaps both?

"Your current burnt-out appearance doesn't exactly give your words much credibility." Leticia was truly feeling confident this time; she had found the way to deal with Melanie.

If Melanie was shameless, then she, Leticia, just had to be even more shameless. When both parties were shameless, it was actually Melanie who suffered.

Because once Leticia abandoned her shame, her bottom line was remarkably low.

"How about we go back to bed for another nap?" Leticia took a sudden step forward and beckoned Melanie with her finger. "As a body pillow, you might talk a bit much, but your feel is top-notch."

Melanie instinctively took a step back; she had developed a bit of a shadow over last night's events.

Leticia was quite unrestrained once she fell asleep. Even now, under Melanie's nightgown, there were quite a few bite marks from Leticia.

This girl really would use her teeth to gnaw on things.

"Ho, scared?" Leticia suppressed the urge to laugh out loud. "There are still two requests left, don't you forget."

"I won't go back on my word," Melanie stabilized her emotions. "I'm going back now."

"If you're going to get lost, then get lost." Leticia waved her hand generously, indicating that Melanie could crawl away now.

Taking a deep look at Leticia, who had 'carried away with success' practically written all over her face, Melanie realized she seemed to have no way to handle this version of Leticia.

In this confrontation, under Leticia's shameless offensive, Melanie had retreated in undisputed defeat.

"Ah ha ha ha ha, I won! I finally won!" After Melanie disappeared, Leticia could no longer suppress her excitement. She threw herself onto her bed, hugging the quilt and laughing loudly.

The laughter was so loud that even Yori upstairs could hear it clearly.

"What is Quinn doing? What's all this about winning and losing?" Yori, who was preparing breakfast for her sister, was somewhat confused. "And Sister too, why hasn't she gotten out of bed yet?"

Today was Monday, and Yori had to hurry to get to school.

"Sister, breakfast is almost ready!" the young girl called out toward her sister's room.

Soon, Melanie, having changed her clothes, walked out of the room. Although her face was still a bit haggard, she looked much better than she had a moment ago.

"Sister, did you not sleep well last night?" Yori asked.

Melanie was conflicted about whether she should tell her sister the truth. After a brief thought, she decided not to let Yori know about what happened between her and Leticia last night.

"Binge-watching shows. I watched until past two in the morning and had just fallen asleep when she woke me up with her noise." Melanie looked downstairs with a resentful gaze. At this moment, the continuous stream of loud laughter could still be heard clearly.

It was lucky that the only residents in this building were Melanie's and Leticia's families; otherwise, Leticia would have been charged with disturbing the peace.

"I see. I didn't realize you liked TV dramas so much, Sister." Yori didn't suspect anything; girls her sister's age did indeed do such things. "Breakfast is in the kitchen. I'm heading to school now."

As she spoke, Yori picked up her schoolbag from the chair.

"Be safe on the way."

"Don't worry, Sister. Little Lu will be going to school with me."

Melanie felt a bit helpless. It was precisely because she was with Kira that she reminded her sister to be safe.

Ordinary bad guys couldn't hurt Yori, and Melanie still trusted the bodyguards sent by Cyclops. But Kira, a threat so close to Yori, was something Melanie truly couldn't feel at ease about.

She couldn't make a move; Leticia was right here watching.

Make Leticia stay away from Kira? What reason could she use?

It was impossible for Melanie to tell her sister, 'Your sister is actually a legendary figure of the human race, and that Luca next to you is actually the Princess of the Demon Race,' right?

So, it was a difficult situation.

Yori gave her sister a puzzled look, but she didn't think too much of it as she was running out of time.

"Goodbye!"

Watching Yori leave, Melanie sighed softly. The day had only just begun, and she still owed Leticia two requests.

She hoped she wouldn't make a request like last night's. Once was okay, but if it happened two or three times, even Melanie wouldn't be able to take it.

The laughter downstairs had gradually subsided. Whether Leticia was tired of laughing or had been stopped by Luna, it was finally much quieter.

The breakfast her sister prepared today was simple, but the portion was generous. It was clear she had already figured out Melanie's habits.

Compared to the flavorless fast food she used to eat, which was useless except for nutrition, the food prepared by her sister was a gourmet delicacy.

Downstairs, facing actual gourmet delicacies, Leticia's mood was even better.

She used her fork to pick up a perfectly fried egg, taking small bites of the white part.

"Your Majesty, did something good happen? You're in such a good mood."

Luna, standing to the side, finally couldn't help but speak up. She had just heard Leticia laugh like that for the first time—that kind of unrestrained laughter that disregarded her image entirely. It almost made Luna think Leticia had done something major.

But when she opened the door, she saw her Majesty lying on the quilt like a child, laughing and rolling around.

For a moment, Luna had even worried about her Majesty's mental state.

Fortunately, upon seeing Luna push the door open, Leticia immediately composed herself. She also realized she had lost her composure a bit just now.

However, she didn't think she was in the wrong. That breath of resentment she had held for so many years had finally found an outlet.

She had made Melanie suffer a setback; she had made Melanie flee in panic. Wasn't that worth a few loud laughs?

"A good thing, a very good thing. Don't ask too much, Luna."

"Is it about Malanie?"

"Smart. I'll tell you what, Luna, she has to listen to me for the whole day today," Leticia said very excitedly.
